  We refinanced our original loan in 2020 with another local company and, while the process was easy enough, it took forever and the company messed up our payments so many times (including not paying our insurances through our escrow- we went 7 months without any coverage on our house because no one ever informed us that our mortgage forgot to send payment!) that we just got fed up. We started looking for another mortgage company and Rob with PCM came highly recommended. He quoted us immediately and the rates were unbelievably low, at least half a percent below the next lowest quote. Closing costs were low, it took no time to establish our mortgage, and they even had notary come to our house to make the process even faster. Our payments are now correct and we no longer have to anticipate stress every month, and the process was painless and simple! Rob and his team took care of us and rescued us from our awful previous mortgage. We are forever grateful! Thank you!!!

  What can I say about Rob and the team at Port City Mortgage.....well for starters this is the first review I have ever written, and I wouldn’t feel right not letting everyone else know how AMAZING Rob and his team were throughout our entire home purchase process. Rob not only beat all other rates we received(some by as much as a full percentage point) but explained every step of the process and worked around the many obstacles that came up in an extremely timely manner to get us to closing on time. I could not have asked for a better overall customer experience and end result. If your reading this review your probably looking for options, do yourself a favor and give Port City Mortgage a call. You will not be disappointed.

  We Used Port City Mortgage at the end of 2015 when our home was in eminent domain for the new Military Cut off Extension. They were great! They understand the system, rates, and how important our time schedule was for closing on a new home. I would highly recommend Rob and his staff to anyone who needs a new mortgage and wants to be treated as a person and not a number.

  I purchased a house with Port City Mortgage earlier this year, Rob and his team worked closely with us the whole time. We had some issues in closing with other people involved but Port City Mortgage supported us all the way and were the only ones to keep us updated as to what was going on and what we needed to do next.   Port City Mortgage handled my wife and I's recent home purchase in Wilmington, NC very professionally and with no delay. We only had to go through a single round of underwriting items so our loan was cleared to close very quickly. At the last minute, I decided to change my loan amount.   I'm a first time home buyer that discovered Port City Mortgage through reviews via a web search. The staff were knowledgeable, courteous, and timely. Their organizational skills kept me moving forward through the process, making it a lot less daunting. Matt McLeod (mortgage consultant) was particularly helpful. With his experience and familiarity with the market, I was able to secure the loan with the best interest rate available in a timely manner. Highly recommend talking with this company if you are shopping for a mortgage loan.

  My wife and I just moved back to the US after being abroad for over a decade, and had essentially no domestic credit history when we got back. Rob really went the extra mile to figure out a way for us to buy our dream house, guiding us through the process and putting in the work to find us a non-traditional loan.   I met Rob after I filled out an online quote for refinance mortgage rates. He contacted me with current rates soon after I filled out the form. His rates were the lowest I could find by far. In the beginning, I was just browsing the rates and wasn’t seriously looking to refinance, but Rob was able to show me that I could go from a 30 year mortgage to a 15 year and my monthly payment would be about the same. I decided to go ahead with it and I’m so glad I did. My loan was funded within a couple weeks of locking the rate. Everything went so smoothly because Rob knew exactly what the bank needed. All I had to do was scan each piece of information and email it to him. I never had to physically mail or fax anything. This made it super convenient for me! Rob was even able to send a local notary to my work to sign the papers and close on the loan. Best of all, I only had to pay out of pocket for the appraisal, lawyer fees and a few other minor things. In the end, Rob gave me the absolute best rate out there along with the lowest closing costs and impeccable service. I couldn’t be happier!
