Chris Marius Jones5Great bank, with very friendly and helpful staff. I've always had very positive interactions when working with the banking professionals here. In person they are friendly and timely, but I have also had great interactions with them over the phone since sometimes I can't come in in person. It's so relieving to know if I have questions while using the online banking, there is someone who cares and can assist me. While the big banks are cutting staff and making it impossible to interact with real people, I'm glad that Pony Express still cares to add a personal touch and put their customers first. Glad to know I have a trustworthy, dependable bank to rely on for years to come!

John Foster5My husband and I recently moved to Liberty and we switched our accounts to Pony Express. The service we received from the beginning was amazing. Our account rep, Amy was very friendly and knowledgable and helped us set up everything we needed to get things going. The few times we have gone in the bank since then, we have brought our dog, and the whole bank is so welcoming and friendly to us and her. We would definitely recommend this bank, as service like this is very hard to find these days.

Sheckey Hart5I’ve been banking here over 20 years and have had nothing but great experiences. Wonderful small town banking feel where you’re treated like a friend, not just a customer. Most recently had a minor issue with a check that at most other banks I’ve dealt with would have taken jumping through hoops and days to fix. After talking with Lyndsey, and mind you it was a mistake that I made, she took the time to go the extra mile and ensure it got taken care of. GREAT BANK!!

Sharon Hall5I have been a customer at Pony Express for decades. I have done some banking at major large national banks too. There is just no comparison between the two. I get treated by the staff at Pony Express like I am their only costumer. I get help with and answers to all my questions. I actually get a live person who talks with me and helps me resolve any issues I have. On the other hand, my big bank has no clue who I am, doesn’t care who I am and it takes too much time punching numbers before my call reaches a human who then just passes me on to someone else. I strongly encourage everyone to bank with their local community bank - this local community bank - who truly has your needs and best interests at the core of everything they do!

Lost Money1It is my opinion that the first and primary function of a bank is to keep our money safe. Unfortunately, this was not my experience with Pony Express. After moving away from the Liberty area 8 years ago I stopped using my account at Pony, but I had a balance of around $1,600 in my account that I had forgotten about. I received a letter in the mail from Pony about 4 months ago regarding the inactivity on my account. I called and spoke with them for about 15 minutes to discuss the various options to withdraw the remaining $ and close my account. All of the options other than coming into the branch in person were also inconvenient so the lady told me she would update my account so that my account wouldn't be on this 'dormant' list and that I could take my time and stop in any time to close out the account. I made arrangements a few weeks ago to drive an hour to the branch only to arrive and be told they turned my money over to the state's unclaimed assets department back in October. Turns out they went ahead did this within a few weeks after my phone call. I didn't even receive a letter from them to let me know this had happened. So not only did they give my money away, but I had to drive an hour each way just to find out my money is gone. And it is still not showing up on the state's website. As you might expect, I can't get a hold of anyone in the state treasurer dept and no one will call or email me back. As of right now my money is still missing and I have no idea how or if I'll ever get it back. I've already wasted a lot of time and effort and Pony Express has offered no help. They barely even offered a half hearted apology for their mistake when I was in the branch. Can you imagine a bank just sending off your money without any notice knowing full well you've spoken to them and they have all of your current contact information? I couldn't. Until now. If you want your money secure I would recommend finding another bank.

jim Homan1Horrible service! Policy are awful. They won't cash a check who cashes half and give cashers check for the rest what bank does that? Pony Express in Liberty does!! At the end of it they did cash the check. But if I was to write a check and my electric co went an cash it and only received partial payments they would shut my power off. Brock the gentleman that help was a positive plus an has patience.
Response from the ownerJim, Our bank policy is to not cash checks for non-customers. Our bank customer who wrote you the check requested that we only give a certain amount of cash and to issue a bank cashier’s check for the balance. After you voiced your displeasure, we agreed to cash your check for the entire amount. As you are not a customer of Pony Express Bank, you always have the option of taking your check to your own bank to deposit or have them give you cash. Because we did go over and above normal policy for you and gave you cash for the entire amount of the check, we are puzzled to see your review.
