BELINDA CANNON2The customer service was okay. I had first castle cu and pelican took over their customers. I was not told about fees until I closed 2 in active accounts. The 1st rep told me I had one amount so when I received check it was $20.00 short so when I called back this is when I was informed about fees. I shold have been told by the 1st rep.

Paul Powell1This company gave me a deferment for 1 months payment in July. I emailed the the signed paperwork to them on the 15th. A week before it was due because I was laid off due to Covid. Fast forward to today they called harassing me about my payment. Threatening me. The young lady said she never got my email from last month and wouldn’t you know it’s kinda funny my email is blocked now so I can’t forward the original message to the specialist. I would suggest to anyone go elsewhere. These are horrible people with even less morals.
Response from the ownerHi Paul, thank you for your feedback. We take member reviews very seriously and will forward this information over to our management team to look into this immediately.

Taylor Woods2Beyond disappointed and frustrated with this credit union. Selected them for a loan due to my mothers raving review; however, my business with them has neen nothing short of a bumpy ride. As I expected, there were a few hang-ups actually closing the loan, but everyone knows no business transaction is completely smooth. The manager personally handled my paperwork and it was squared away. The real issues occurred with the repayment of my loan. Apparently, this credit union is stuck in times of doing all business face to face. That’s all well and good but I’m not going to commit to going to the branch and doing a personal payment every two weeks for the next six years of my life. Any up to date banking system should participate in their own online payments. Pelican does not. They use a third party source. Big mistake. Not all info is transferred and this third party does not like to answer the phone. And on top of that, TWO of the workers at the central branch that I conversed with on the phone DID NOT KNOW THAT THE LOAN REPAYMENT WAS DONE ON A THIRD PARTY SITE. Never should the customer have to run up behind the lesser and practically beg someone to take their payment so they can avoid the late fees. And to add to the frustration, the customer help that I spoke with did not want to take my payment over the phone. I HAD to go to the branch to make a payment where the manager decided to ask for a late fee. Do you think I would have come into the branch after working nights if I could have made my payment online or over the phone on time?? I could go on but this review is becoming lengthy enough. In summation, the local branch I worked with was okay. JT was somewhat helpful. I just know now to make sure the next finance company I work with is more compatible with my schedule, more technologically advanced, and has workers that are clear on the procedures of the bank they work for.
Response from the ownerThank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, Taylor. We are sending this to our senior management team to look into immediately. Please email this and a good number to reach you at to [email protected], and we'll have our team begin researching all of this immediately. We would like to look into the roadblocks you've mentioned here so that we can better the future Pelican experience for you and future Pelican members.
