Witnessing an interaction with the branch manager and a teller is what lead me to close my accounts and cancel my membership. I had a number of things to do, and a few questions the teller didn't know the answers to. When she asked the manager she was rude and condescending to the teller right in front of me. Impatient and overbearing, I can't believe a manger would have the audacity to act that way ever. This location has a lot of problems (long lines, unfriendly service) but that was the last straw for me.

      Response from the owner

Rolyat, Thanks for sharing your feedback. This does not sound like a typical experience at our branch. We appreciate our staff and all of their hard work and invest in their ongoing development. We would greatly appreciate an opportunity to discuss your concerns in greater detail. If possible, please reach out using our schedule an appointment option on our branch page and we'll contact you directly to talk about your experience. https://www.onpointcu.com/locations-atms/onpoint-205-place-branch/ We hope to hear from you soon. ROBERT SIMMONS was very RUDE to me at the Mall I-205 branch. He was so frustrated with me asking questions regarding my Platinum Rewards credit card that his hand's were shaking. I was not yelling or anything. ROBERT SIMMONS kept telling me that my oversight and lack of understanding of the credit card's fine print was a learning experience for his staff and who cares if I have to pay 2% more interest on a cash advance issue. I just asked to speak with his manager and he kept saying that she was not available, he eventually just gave me her business card and I followed up with her. Lindsey Homan said that she would follow up with ROBERT SIMMONS and ask that he be more mindful on how he speaks to and treats members. Thank you Lindsey for talking to me with respect. I have been a member since 2011 and I had never had any issues with Onpoint before meeting ROBERT SIMMONS.

      Response from the owner

Ricardo, Thanks for taking the time to share your review. As you know, this is not a typical experience at OnPoint and we understand that Lindsay was able to address your concerns. Please let us know if you need help with anything else. Sincerely, -OnPoint

The people at OnPoint are very helpful but every time I need to call them, the menu takes forever and waiting to speak with someone literally takes an hour every time, so I opt for the call back, however this is not ideal as a call back an hour later doesn't always work if you're working, driving, etc... Other banks and credit unions that I call are much easier to get a hold of, and I can say that with certainty as I work for an auto dealer and have to call many banks throughout the day. I know times are tough but if other local credit unions can figure it out, so can OnPoint. Would I change my CU for this reason, probably not but it certainly makes for an aggravating experience.

      Response from the owner

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but the exceptional service I ALWAYS receive at this branch has me wanting to recommend them to everyone I know and even those I don't! The staff at this location, and every other location I've been to for that matter, are the sweetest, most understanding people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with! They don't have the big bank "give me your money" mentality and are always willing to do what they can to please their customers. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would, time and again!

      Response from the owner

Lauren, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a detailed review. It means a lot to our team. We hope to see you again soon! Best, -OnPoint

Thank you for responding I understand check fraud happens, just please train your staff to respond to what they feel is a suspicious check in a faster and more discreet way. It shouldn't take that long to verify, she went to go check with two coworkers about what to do before she called, What would have happened if the lady didn't answer? the whole process made me feel very uncomfortable, maybe have a room with a person in charge to verify the authenticity of checks if it's happening that often, or even a room in the back with a phone or just a discreet phone area, or let the member know about the check frauds that are happening and how the computer maked it, blame the computer, have the teller avoid giving any suspicious looks because it doesn't feel nice. If they really need to interogate or ask more questions maybe have the manager talk to the member about what is happening or someone else that can say it in a gentle proffesional manner. At first I didn't know what was going on, and then started looking around for her because it was taking long and then got told that it was because of an S on the signature, it made me very upset. Onpoint is my favorite bank. Its not her fault, I guess its just the need for training how to handle this type situation faster and in a way that is not akward between the member and the teller.

      Response from the owner

Rafael, Thanks for sharing your experience. We understand that the due diligence from our staff can be frustrating. As a result of increases in check fraud, our team must take special care to protect our members from scams. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Sincerely, -OnPoint

I just want to say that with both times that I have come in so far I have been treated like a human and not just a number! I can not remember the ladies that were helping me the first time when I opened my account, I only remember one of them had the last name of Diamond! I came in on 11.23.18 and I had a David K. help me and his conversation made me feel welcome and he even gave me some comforting information on my personal current situation. I just really want him to know that I truly appreciate his pointers on transportation!! I am very happy I chose to bank with you all!

      Response from the owner

Jacob, Thank you for sharing your experience! Welcome to the OnPoint family! Best, -OnPoint
