Tate Buffington1WORST MORTGAGE LENDER EVER. Veterans run for the hills. I have unfortunately been a NASB customer on a VA Loan for over 3 years. They have continuously caused problems and refuse to own up to their own mistakes. They constantly raised my escrow amount each year beyond the cost of property tax and insurance is. Each year I have had to show them proof that they are charging me too much. Most recently, they paid the wrong insurance policy! They paid the insurance policy for a property they do not have the loan on. That property is through another lender. This caused my monthly mortgage payment to increase ~400$. They asked that I "pay the increased price" until they could figure the issue out. It took 3 months. I just refinanced through another lender. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere from the start.
Response from the ownerHi Tate, Thanks for sharing your feedback. We take great strides to ensure an exceptional experience for our customers, but in this case, we did make a mistake, and we can certainly understand your frustration. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused you, and we are happy we were able to resolve the issue.

Joseph Esry1NASB mortgage is great the branches not so much. For example, sign says they opened 40 minutes ago and now after going to their website I discover I'll be sitting here twenty minutes.
Response from the ownerHi Joseph, Thank you for your kind words about NASB Home Loans. We are sorry you arrived at our branch earlier than necessary-that does seem like a real pain! We do have a temporary sign posted under our older sign with the updated hours, but please know that a new sign is being created to replace the older one. Thanks for the feedback.

Chase Converse1Originally went with this business for my home loan, after just a month they sold my mortgage to Caliner Home Loans. I was not told of this at all. Emailed my loan agent told me what was going on and who to pay. I went to pay but now my payment was late and I had to pay a fee. This is a bad business plan. 1 star.
Response from the ownerThanks for reaching out to us. We’re sorry that your experience has not been a smooth one after your loan was transferred. We notify borrowers upfront on the Loan Estimate that their loan may be sold on the secondary market. And, as required by federal law, we send a notification of a service transfer no less than 15 days prior to the transfer to the new servicer. The new service provider is also required to send a notification and payment information within 15 days after the transfer date. We are glad that we were able to reach out to the new servicer on your behalf and work with you directly to help address your concern.

John N.5I've banked with NASB for many years. While they're still a small bank, they have all the technology the big boys offer -- but they do it with a personal touch and a smile. They always have great rates on CDs and savings products -- watch for their specials. There's always a friendly greeting when I come in the door. I used them to do my mortgage a few years back and it was smooth and painless. Highly recommended! Edit to add: I recently called customer service on a Saturday to notify them I would be out of the country. Alex took the call; he was courteous and prompt. I was off the phone with him within a minute. Meanwhile, my wife was on the phone with a machine at UMB and it took her more than 10 minutes to accomplish the same thing!
Response from the ownerJohn, thank you very much for taking the time to write this kind review. We strive to make our customer's experience seamless and pleasant!

Sallie Mathis5Excellent bank; Excellent service, great customer service. I helped a Bank of America customer switch to NASB because she was stressed at how she was being treated. She was amazed at the NASB experience compared to what she had been experiencing. I told her it would be great, and that has been confirmed consistently for the now 4 years that she has been a NASB customer. I have been a customer much longer, and I would not consider dropping NASB. I had one experience where the drive through was slow. It was a new employee learning her job. Spoke to a bank employee about it, and the situation was immediately resolved. Never since have I experienced that problem. I highly recommend NASB. They also have special programs to help local communities.
Response from the ownerThank you, Sallie, for the kind words and positive review! We're glad we've earned your business.

Jonathan Russell1The worst bank I ever banked with. They constantly would send new debit cards every few months that always ended up lost in the mail and then deactivate your current card without telling you. Much better off with a credit union

Jules Whitman1Do NOT bank here!!!! They steal money from deceased account holders. They refuse to give you information about your own accounts to protect their illegal practices. I can’t say enough negative things about this bank. They are absolutely terrible.
Response from the ownerHi Jules: We’re sorry your experience at NASB did not meet your expectations. Please know we take account security and privacy very seriously at NASB, which is how we’ve built the trust and loyalty of our customers. Our policies and procedures are designed to protect our customer’s assets and personal information. Specific documentation will always be required to access a deceased family member’s account. While named account beneficiaries are entitled to account funds less any fees, they are not account holders and therefore have limited access. If you’d like to the matter more in detail, please give us a call at 916-943-8000.

Alan Wilson2I have used this bank for almost 20 years and their service continues to deteriorate. Using their online Bill Pay is unreliable. Tried setting it up in bill pay so I could transfer money to another bank but NASB's bill pay service will only send a check to the other bank so it takes 7 to 10 business days from the time I submit the transaction for my money to get to the other bank even though the service deducts the money from my account immediately. I can send a check by snail-mail myself and it takes 3 days for the check to reach it's destination. Having the bank run the transfer costs $10 for sending the money, then the receiving bank charges $15 to accept the money. It's hard to believe that in this technology rich world we live in a bank cannot have it so a customer can transfer money from one bank to another. The customer service people used to go out of their way to try and help out a customer but those days are long gone. Now you get an apology for the trouble you are having but no resolution at all.

Larissa Barnett1Horrible customer service I have been banking here for years they are extremely rude ,the tellers half the time do not know what they are doing the staff has horrible attitudes and gives off the impression as a customer you are inturupting there day.On multiple occasions have gone in there they take forever to get anything done and they still don’t do what you need done correctly. They have taken money from accounts and deposited into others so you have to watch your accounts like a hawk .i have deposited money and they will put it in wrong accounts .when you go in you will see multiple people standing around and only one person helping .I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BANK TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!THEY COULD CARELESS ABOUT THEIR LONG TERM CUSTOMERS THIS IS EXACTLY WHY PEOPLE ARE GOING ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!
