Bill Bankhead4A very positive experience and effective process after you get them to respond. It took numerous attempts to get the process started. A response to the sales phone calls and bulk mailing did not get any attention, so I called the company directly, good thing I had an account already.

Matt Besse1If I could give 0 stars I would. This company has no idea what 'customer service' means. I am dead serious when I write this, DO NOT use this company. It has taken us over 7 months to close on a refi when we are on paper probably the easiest people to get through a loan process. I am very confused by how they can operate this as a business based on their lack of understanding of simple processes. Fo your sake and for your sanity, do not use NewRez. You will regret it.

Dusti Martin1If I could give zero stars I would. I have worked with the same lender for years. On a current deal, we locked our Buyer in with a loan from NewRez. They have been exceedingly difficult to communicate with, have been slow moving, and extremely flippant and dismissive of contractual deadlines and don't even seem to care that they have now put my clients (and likely countless others) in breach of their contract with the potential of losing their earnest money deposit. They simply have replied "do what you have to do". When thousands of dollars are on the line, this is unacceptable customer service and poor business practice. No other deal I have ever had has EVER been this unproductive and poor to communicate with while holding a complete lack of regard for the contractual obligations they have violated both with the client and for the contract they put the Buyer in the position of violating. And getting radio silence for 2 days past what was supposed to be a closing deadline is even more unacceptable. We all understand banks are slammed right now and backed up. But being rude, flippant, and then not communicating to update anyone is what really makes this absurd. As it stands, it is just now being looked t by an underwriter: 1 day after what was supposed to be COE and 15 mins after the wire cut off deadline for today... on a Friday afternoon. Which means if we are lucky, we will close 4 days late.... MAYBE. It's one thing if you are that backed up. But to not give anyone advance warning with a more realistic expectation of what to expect and when so people can plan accordingly is profoundly subpar customer service and not what I would call best business practices.

Donald Matthews5Justin was exceptionally professional in his handling of my account. He was also courteous and very informative as to the refinance process. It was a pleasure working with him.

Harpal Dhillon1I am not with this mortgage company by choice and the first chance I get to refinance elsewhere I will. I added an escrow account for my county taxes when I started with my original mortgage company. I called and spoke with a rep who repeatedly reassured me that she was removing the escrow account as I requested, she had me confirm my new monthly payment, she advised me a escrow refund check would be mailed out and told me several times to go pay my own county taxes. I went and paid my taxes on March 04, 20. I check my account (on a weekend) and of course my account was deducted my mortgage along with escrow and as to date no refund. I am out my mortgage plus escrow plus myself paying county taxes over $1,800 as advised by rep on 02/25/20. Since being with this company it is nothing but a hassle I very much dislike them. Please do not respond to this review with ‘ email us at etc’. If you really care you will actually reach out.

mrs diggs7181We rarely receive monthly statements, and if we do they are a week or so after the due date. And if that wasn't bad enough they've been doing everything possible to screw us out of a few grand a year with padded escrow account. We've asked for multiple reviews which get nowhere and even asked for escrow to be removed which they denied. After paying their overpriced escrow for over a year our escrow account has enough to pay all the taxes for the year after only 2 months! If they won't fix this year we'll be reporting them to HUD.
Response from the ownerGood morning Mrs. Diggs. We’d like to gather more information about your experience with NewRez. Please contact us directly at [email protected] so that we can address your situation. Thank you!

Dustin Rose1Stay away! Terrible company with poor ethics. We had the unfortunate experience of having our mortgage bought by this greedy company. They charge you a fee to make payments. When it came time to sell our house this company fought me on giving me a mortgage payoff. Then when it came time to paying off mortgage they rejected my payment because of their own "policies" that no one can quote me or repeat twice. Different story from every person. I feel bad if you have to work with these sharks.

Juli Chaney (jcntx)2Call center is the worst. Was in hold at least 6 times and had to repeat my security info at least 3 times. All this to get a never ending process of having an insurance check endorsed. I was given a "procedure" package with a ton of requested documents. I've always wondered about who named this company. NewRez sounds like it's owned by a 15 year old rapper. And they are managing my mortgage?

Evan Phillips1I'd give zero stars if I could. HORRIBLE communication. I spent a good chunk out of pocket for a refinance only to keep getting new documents to sign with NO explanation...I'd go over the documents and find fees, such as points, had increased; it's like they were hoping I wouldn't notice before I signed. I switched to another lender that had me pay NOTHING out of pocket and was very communicative every step of the way. New Rez wouldn't even sign over the appraisal I paid for to the new lender, forcing me to have to get my house reappraised. DO NOT GO WITH NEW REZ!

James Roberts5William, in the insurance department was very helpful in fixing our issue with our insurance premium getting paid out of our escrow account. He made a call to or insurance agent, got the policy set to him, and got a payment ordered up in less than an hour. I do appreciate the timely order this took place.
