  Nelly is just a gem and so easy to work with. She "gets her ducks in a row" prior to submitting a loan app to ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible. She's thorough and competent - I've referred friends to her over the years and will continue to do so.

  We recently relocated to CA from WA and the first thing that we did before we moved was look for a good mortgage broker. We had been with PNC for many years so we called them to see if they could recommend someone in the area where we were looking to move to. They had Nelly listed as one of their best. When we flew down to do some initial market research, we stopped in to meet with her. She took her time with us and answered all of our many questions. She's friendly, smart, very knowledgeable and has a great network of people she can draw on for recommendations if you need anything. We were looking for a realtor and she connected us with a great one that we were really happy with. She and her assistant Debbie guided us through the entire process. When it was time to sign papers, my husband was out of town and wasn't going to be available to sign in the timeframe we needed. Nelly and Debbie went out of their way to help me find a solution that allowed us to complete the purchase without delaying closing. They worked seamlessly with both the escrow company and our realtor and they made the entire process easy for us. I highly recommend Nelly and her team. Not only do they really know what they're doing, but they're also genuinely cool people and I wouldn't hesitate recommending them to anyone!

  There were very few banks that I could apply for a mortgage with due to the property type. In fact my first loan was denied and I reached out to Nelly after escrow had already been opened. Nelly called me to explain everything before I submitted an application with PNC. Not only did Nelly push my application through approval much faster than expected, she was also able to get me the lowest interest rate with the lowest closing costs. In addition to purchasing an unusual property which made the process very stressful, I have had an extremely difficult escrow process due to other reasons but Nelly and Debbie went above and beyond to help me navigate the situation and facilitate communications among all the parties involved. They were very knowledgeable in their work and always provided timely responses to my questions. I am very grateful for Nelly and Debbie’s assistance and would definitely recommend them to others.

  A family friend introduced us to Nelly Melian several year ago exclaiming that "she is awesome." In retrospect, our friend's recommendation of Nelly was an understatement. Nelly is not only an expert at what she does, but she is an amazing human being. Nelly helped us refinance our home not once, but three times. It turns out that it is not the financial institution that we are interested in, but more of the financial intuition that Nelly Melian represents.   Nelly was fantastic - very informative and helpful along the way. She got us a low interest rate (not the lowest out there, so I've recently learned, but a very very good one). She was always willing to hop on the phone to talk and was very patient with my many many questions throughout the process, since we were doing both a 1st mortgage loan and a HELOC at the same time. She was great about trying to understand our long term goals and making recommendations that would help us best meet them, I really really appreciated her honest insight into mortgage finance. There was a lot to cover! The whole process to close of escrow took 7 months, but that was more because of COVID times and the underwriters than anything Nelly could control. Nelly & her assistant Debbie were great about checking in regularly, and made handling paperwork very easy. All-in-all, MUCH better than my first experience with a loan office when I bought my house years ago. I'd highly recommend Nelly & her team to friends & family, in addition to anyone reading this review!

  Nelly is the only broker you will ever need. She is remarkable. We looked at several different brokers and Nelly was far and away the best. Not only did she work with our complicated financials and get us the best rate and loan but she also took a daunting and complicated process and made it easy and manageable. We cannot recommend her more!
