  I rarely publicly endorse people or businesses but after recently purchasing a home using Mike Watson and Benchmark I felt compelled to do so. At the time of the purchase, the market I was looking in was extremely hot and properties were going under contract in just a couple days of listing and often above asking price. I made an offer on a property the first day it was on the market and needed a good amount of assistance from Mike to get my documents in order. With essentially zero advance notice Mike personally stayed to work on my loan application until 11pm one evening to ensure that I could get my offer in. I ended up not getting that property and having to place multiple offers on multiple properties until finally getting a great home under contract. Mike and his team never batted and eye and were there to assist in a timely and efficient manner through each offer and then finally, through to the closing. His entire team was extremely professional and you could tell from start to finish that they were all seasoned professionals in their field. Thanks again from myself and my family!

  Long review - well worth the read. I started the homebuying process with a different lender, and went through 3 more quotes for a total of 4 different offers from lenders on the home I wanted. I had finally settled on one, the one I felt had the least drawbacks. I was trying to place an offer that same day though, so despite being torn I needed to go ahead and settle. My boss told me, "Well, why don't you just take a minute and give my buddy Mike Watson a quick call - he can maybe offer you some advice on which route to go." Not only was Mike able to offer advice, but within 30 minutes he had a better offer on the table for me, with every.single.thing I liked about each of the other offers, and NONE of the cons that any of them had. You can't make this stuff up. Then he told me it was through State Housing - "Oh boy," I said "I've heard from other vendors that they're a nightmare to try to close...." ...wait for it... I went on vacation to Europe 2 days later, we went under contract while I was on the road to the airport. I forwarded Mike what he asked for, and signed a few documents via email from the Musee D'Orsay in Paris. When I came back everything had been handled - Mike & his team worked with my realtor(Rodney Woods, Berkshire Hathaway) to make it so easy I can't even begin to explain. The supposed nightmare of State Housing that "drags on forever" according to other lenders, and that they all discouraged me from taking - closed earlier than the anticipated date. It was harder and took longer to get quotes out of other lenders, than it did to actually place the offer and close on my house through Mike's office. 100% recommend.

  If you are refinancing, or buying a new home in the upstate and you don't reach out to Mike Watson for a rate quote. You are wrong. They provide excellent value, super professional, and they hustle to get things done. I used them for my first mortgage and now a refi. Top notch.
