CPM Federal Credit Union - Spartanburg Reviews

LaTonya Mallory1I have been banking with CPM for over 5,6 years now. I get all my deposits and tax refunds sent to this bank. I received a check from the insurance company from a wreck. I took the check to be cashed/deposited and they wanted to put a 5 day hold on it stating that I needed to have the funds (check amount) already in my account which didnt make any sense. The teller stated that I have never received a large amount into my account. I told her that wasnt true because my tax refunds is deposited into this account every year. She then started giving other reasons as to why they did not want to deposit the check. None made sense. I had to take the check to my other Bank (Founders) and they deposited with no problems!
Response from the ownerMs. Mallory, We apologize for your overall experience. However, CPM does place funds on hold for several different reasons. We do this to protect the membership and Credit Union.

LaMarna Stevenson1I entered this location on Friday 09/17/21 to deposit my 4-yr. old disabled son's SSI checks in a shared branching account. I had 2 checks both for $276.42 that I had not gotten a chance to deposit. I have been getting them since December of 2020. I usually go to Greer on HWY 101 and have NEVER had a problem. In fact the first check I received from SSI in December was over $2,000 and I had no issue whatsoever depositing into my shared branching account. I went to this location because it was close to a location that my son now gets therapy. MACKENZIE/MICKENZIE(? spelling) tells me that she could not deposit them because it was not a "for" account. I told her I have been depositing these checks with no issue with the shared branching and even into an actual CPM account that I had there at the HWY 101 location since December. I said if you look at the history, you will see that and I have not had a "for" account. I asked her when had the policy changed? Then in in a snooty manner she states I have been here 5 years and then says that the Greer location has been doing it wrong. I then asked if I could just put it in the CPM account I have, both me and my 4-year old has separate accounts. She said they would still need to be "for" accounts. I asked her for the checks back and proceeded to leave. Then in her same snooty tone she says "Have a good day" as if she had just won some victory. I called back office and spoke with DEANNA who did the necessary research and even called Greer. She called me back and said that I could put it into my son's account and that she would put a note on his account. I went to the drive-thru since I would now be doing an actual CPM transaction. The guy at the window(did not get his name) starts to say the same "for" account stuff. I told him that I had just called back office and a note was placed on the account. He goes and checks and allows my deposit. Why does nobody want to research and try to make the customer satisfied? The level of incompetence and rudeness I received at this location was vey disappointing. I am ready to close my accounts and bank elsewhere. This is people's money they are playing with, during a pandemic no less. You do not know people's situation.
Response from the ownerMs. Stevenson, we apologize for your overall experience. You do have to have a specific account type set up to be able to cash or deposit checks for another individual. We would be happy to help you set that up so you can avoid this in the future. Thanks, Drew Andrew A. Posta Regional Manager

kwanisha jenkins1I enjoyed the bank and it’s services. I am a victim of fraud and The banking regional manger (Drew) is very rude . He made it out as if I knew the funds were deliberately deposited knowing it was a forged check. I was totally unaware . I received the funds from a guy in the complex I lived in during the Xmas holidays . Two weeks later they called and said to bring the money back because it’s fraud . I spoke to them a few times , due to my job of traveling across seas I am unable to get calls at times and asked to reached out to by email if no phone contact. I never gotten a email per my knowledge. I was then charged and arrested because the next step was preceded to. I called the banking manger and he never returned my phones calls. When I final got a call back (Drew) he was very unprofessional, over speaking me and wasn’t very pleasant at all. His tone was very much rude!! I am applauded by the treatment. Being a victim he treated me as if I deliberately and intentionally deposit the funds.

C3Banked with them for years. Now only some and have moved business to another bank with better service. Their online banking is dated, customer service at the local branch varies depending on the person. On my most recent visit they had someone's private information, bank acct# and driver's license # displayed on one of the monitors. In clear view of all the other customers. I pointed out the clear security issue and they barely replied. Left it up. They have some long and varying holds they put on simple cashier's checks that my other bank doesn't have. When I asked why the long hold (5 days), the reply was 'it's policy" and then asked if I still wanted to deposit or go somewhere else.
