  Went several miles to this pawn shop to buy a guitar. Price was fine, however I was not treated politely by whoever was working; I walked in and he instantly gave me the impression that I was not welcome in the store. No smile, no hello, just leaning over the counter with his head in his hands asking me rudely what I wanted. If I’m not the kind of customer you’d like to have in your shop then mission accomplished because I won’t be back!

  If you're looking for a place to buy or sell or pawn make this your first choice. these people will definitely take care of you they are knowledgeable and kind. they are not trying to sell your stuff if you have pawned it and are past your deadline they go above and beyond trying to make sure that you are able to get your items back! Not your usual pawn shop they're one of a kind in this business. 5 stars plus

  This place is AMAZING! They truly are a great business! They are a family business who treats their customers like family. They will never try to hustle you or take advantage of you if you are down on hard times, they understand life happens and will not sell your items on day 91... they have never pulled my items and ive gone way over 90 days. They always give me what i need to borrow and the customer service is top notch. They take the time to know you as a person and help you anyway they can. I recommend Metro Pawn to anyone who needs to borrow money for emergencies or whatever, also they never sell junk items and they stand behind the items they sell. They have the best prices around. Go and see them, you wont be disappointed. Thanks Metro Pawn for all you do! Merry Christmas!!

  Best pawnshop I've ever dealt with. They've gotten me out of a pinch many times. Very friendly staff who remember your name and no matter the situation they don't pass judgement, they just give you the best deal on whatever it is you need to borrow on. I will keep going back. They have my business!

  Best Pawn Shop in the Metro! Always helpful staff that are friendly and they don't bullshit you. They give an honest, fair amount and sell for an honest, fair amount. I've never dealt with a pawn shop as great as this one!

  Metro Pawn is the absolute best pawn shop anywhere in the KC Metro. They are so fair with their customers and remember you from months prior. I wont disclose how, but, they went above and beyond for family heirloom and it meant so much. Thanks MP

  Listed in item with Pawn Guru and was contacted by Metro Pawn saying they were interested and please bring it down for them to look at. I drove all the way from Smithville Missouri to Metro Pawn and when I got there they looked at my item like it was worthless and I was crazy for being there trying to get money for it. Most definitely will never go back.

  Tracy, we apologize that we were not able to help you with your items, especially after driving that distance.  After looking you up in the Pawn Guru message history, we found that you were wanting to show us a variety of pipe taps .  The picture you sent did show a variety of them (brands and type). Unfortunately, we couldn't see enough detail, in that one picture, to give you a definite price quote. That is why we sent you the following message: "We do some, but not many. Most customers are needing more than we can usually loan on them. Condition does matter, so we would need to see them before we can give you any type of price quote. WE are here today until 5pm if you want to bring them by. Thanks" Pawn Guru has it's advantages, but also some major disadvantages.  In cases like this, the item has to be seen to know what amount we can offer for a loan or purchase. We did try to be as honest with you as possible, with the message sent to you through Pawn Guru.  Pawn Guru no longer gives us the customer's location, so we always try to assume that a customer is traveling a distance to get to us. Most customers, who have received a similar message from us, and has a distance to drive, have called us or sent another message letting us know how much they needed to get before driving that distance.  No other messages came through, from you, to us. Again, we apologize that you drove that far and we were not able to help you out.  We also apologize for how you felt you were treated, once at the store. Sometimes our honesty, with why we can't take an item, can come across as rude. Please know that is never our intent.

  This pawnshop is horrid. Their interest rates are good, at 10%, however, they price items by lowest bid on ebay, rather than looking at any legitimate sites to find actual value of items. Doing so, means that they are valuing your "like new" product as the same as any "needs repair" products. They have helped me out in a jam a few times now, but every time, I need $2000 plus in equity to secure a $200 loan. Then, to make the matter even worse, they price their items in store at brand new retail price. For example, I went in there today with a 2 month old Schecter guitar, MSRP $1299, retail $999, with a custom case which can only be bought from Schecter for $299. They offered me $250 loan. Ridiculous. Other times, I have to bring in a Line 6 tube amp, 3 guitars, a High Def Video Camera, and a brand new pedalboard, altogether going used from respected companies for $2,000 used, in worse condition than mine, and get $250. The camera itself, or the amp itself, sells for $250 used. But check out their selection of Squier bass guitars, which sell new for $179.99. Their price: $175. Ripping your customers off and alienating the public who rely on your services is a poor business practice, especially someone who just wants to get a small loan for a week. To top it off, they damaged the neck on my Les Paul when it was in pawn last, and just put a scratch on the body of my Schecter while appraising it. Take your business elsewhere.
