  They force you to change you online password every single year. And you can't do anything about it. They use to be good , but not so much now. Not near as helpful either. Have been with them for 10-15 years. Went in to get a loan and was treated like a subhuman just because I'm self employed. Wasted multiple days jumping through hoops showing my tax returns and other documents just to be denied for a simple loan for $2,000 for a pontoon boat valued at $4000. Went to my other bank (directions credit union) and got the same loan that day. And for an even lower interest rate than mechanics originally offered.

  Trash company to finance a vehicle with, company’s like this needs shut down, so glad I refinanced with another bank even though it took forever for mechanics bank to say the received my payoff. This company will add to interest rate to pay KIA. I will be making a compliant with the BBB

  I've been with Mechanics for 22 years. You couldn't ask for better customer service. No run around if there is an issue. They take care of it right away.

  I didn't check my monthly online checking account statement on time and so they charged me ten dollars for a mailed two page paper bank statement that I don't even need since there's an app to keep track of the deposits and withdrawals into my checking account. Kinda scammy and can't opt out of this. No idea why, but they do, so I'm closing it.

  No advantage in banking close to home as opposed to bigger chain banks. No benefits whatsoever in comparison. You are doing them a favor, actually. Loan rates significantly higher than surrounding banks anytime I’ve checked in to compare. Most tellers rude and ill-informed of their own policies of which they are defensive of when mistakes are pointed out. Mind you mistakes that have been pointed I have been correct about. Of course there’s no change of attitude from the teller at this point and definitely no apology. I am respectful and reserved as not to be confused with someone looking for trouble or who is loud for the sake of being heard. When I’ve had issues I’d seek resolution. But somehow it’s usually with resistance. Also, tellers cannot seem to operate their cash advance machine and attempt to blame the customer for this. Not worth it. Have banked with them 15+ years and not sure why. Glad I made the switch. This new bank appreciates my business and my money is not just sitting collecting dust. Being your ‘hometown’ bank is all they offer. No benefit in banking at Mechanics. Good riddance.

  I have had this bank for a few years now after switching around banks. This is the only bank that has really impressed me. I've never had a hidden fee or anything other than an overdraft charge that was my mistake. And even then they were understanding And removed it as it was a one time occurrence. I will not be switching to any other bank- these people are the most caring.
