      Most things I love about McHenry savings but their card activation system is a pain and asks for info then tells you you e put in the wrong information. It's been four years and complain every year. Never heard a word from them other than tellers apologizing and saying they know. Ill keep complaining but will eventually bring my businesses business elsewhere. This is a stupid problem that's easy to fix yet they dont. Not do they contact me. And all it does is cause me the hassle of taking time out of my day costing me money lost. That's not the purpose of a bank nor do i believe its your goal. Yet you dont fix this stupid error. Wonder if im gonna hear this time. Or if it will continue yo fall on deaf ears.

      Definitely not a professional bank. Never will I speak good of management that works at this bank. CEO is afraid of his own AVP of loans. So sad to see a company that has the right tools just 1 bad manager leading by fear instead of example.

      My wife and I initially were looking for another bank better than where we were and they were local. We got accounts and set up a savings account for our 2 year old. A few months in we started getting notices in the mail about fines and fees. And they were always after the fact or they would send notices for the safety deposit box as over due weeks after the fact even though we never actually got a bill. We never are late paying bills or anything in our household. The last straw was a maintenance fee for my child's savings account. Stay away they will nickel and dime you to death.

      As a small business owner, I found not all banks know how to work well with us small businesses. I came over to McHenry Savings Bank about 3 years ago and am so happy I did. MSB is a true advocate for the small business, and I have been so impressed - They really showed their true greatness through this crazy time of the COVID lockdown going above and beyond to help keep our businesses viable. Chris O and his department have worked tirelessly to make these various loans and funds available and processed as fast as possible. They truly understand that each of our businesses need to stay open and healthy so we can serve this great community.       I've experienced the best customer service in my life with Mchenry Saving Bank. I don't live in the area anymore, so they had no way of contacting me about my dormant account. A staff member found a way to personally contact me and said the funds will be turned over to the state if not claimed. They didn't have to contact me but she took the time to get a message to me and I can't show enough admiration for what she did.

      We've had very good service over the years but received a letter yesterday stating there will now be a minimum daily balance of 500 dollars required in our non-interest bearing checking account. They stand to earn 5 dollars per month on every customer who goes under the 500 minimum. No one has minimums anymore and they will lose a lot of customers this way. Why would someone keep extra money in their checking account that isn't earning interest? It makes no sense.

Often accounts initially marketed as “free” or “no minimum balance” do not reveal the “hidden” requirements such as: must have direct deposit; must have a relationship balance of “x”; must have “x” amounts of debits or bill pays; etc. MSB believes in a fair, clear and transparent approach to banking. In fact, we added a new benefit to customers: reimbursement of three foreign ATM fees (both MSB’s fee and the ATM provider’s surcharge fee) per statement cycle. We encourage you to look at the total picture and we trust you will see the advantage of our fair, clear and transparent approach to banking.       Trying to set up a recurring outgoing funds transfer. The bank employees cannot do this and the online app is unusable for this purpose. Terrible customer service, no help from bank staff, online service doesn't work.

      This has been our absolute favorite bank. The Mchenry location is filled with wonderful customer service representatives and tellers! No matter when I go in, they are always kind to me, my children and my husband. We are often greeted with such enthusiasm and kindness. Whenever I have an issue with our account balance or I am not sure I understand the statement, they are so kind to sit there and walk me through it every step of the way. They have been gracious and understanding in making sure our experiences are the best! Our children look forward to their personal interactions with the staff at the Mchenry location as well. I look forward to many more years of banking with this bank!

      I have never been sooooo disappointed in a bank as I am with this bank. They continuously make it impossible to have a good banking relationship with them. Having a direct payment out of my acct for my mortgage and with them not pulling the money out makes it a late payment which makes MY CREDIT SCORE GO DOWN!!! I can not wait to get my mortgage to a different bank like First National Bank of Mchenry!!!! IM DONE WITH WITH BANK!!!

      My husband and I have been trying to refinance a loan with them since mid April. I was told it would close by end of May. Still not closed left a message for Kelly last Friday and still no call bank.
