  Did we buy a home? Yes Was it smooth during the time? Yes Does Mark care about what happens as soon as he sells your loan? No It was during one of my initial conversations with Mark that I expressed how important it was to me that my loan was serviced with a reputable provider and that I worried about it getting sold and causing me issues down the line. I had done my previous mortgage loan through Wells Fargo and since it was a large bank they managed my mortgage loan and it was really smooth. Unfortunately, I had heard horror stories from friends and coworkers who didn't go through large banks and had their loans sold only to experience issues down the line. Mark assured me that mortgage loans almost always were sold and that it wouldn't cause issues for me. He was 100% wrong. My loan was sold shortly after we purchased the home and Mark or someone from his team wrote down our address incorrectly on the paper work. This caused our mortage paperwork to be mailed to our neighbor. I almost missed my first mortgage payment because the information on how to pay was only included in the mail that had been incorrectly sent to my neighbor. I had to spend several hours on hold to track down what had happened to my paperwork and retrieve my account number. I thought I had it all corrected and now yearly a year later I had to spend 10 hours on the phone with the mortgage provider becuase they incorrectly dispersed my property taxes to the wrong account because of that initial paperwork that was incorrectly filled out during the loan transfer. We made it clear with Mark, we did NOT want to deal with our loan being sold to a horrible loan service provider. Lo and behold, it was, and it's caused us a lot of pain. With so many lending people to work with, I would not recommend Mark. Find someone else.

  Mark Abernathy and the Capstar team did an amazing job supporting us through our recent home purchase. I had 4 different mortgage brokers that I shopped with but ended up utilizing Mark because of his timely communication, his ability to explain complicated financing solutions in a manner that made sense, and his great rates! We utilized some non-standard financing in order to have cash left over to build a pool. Mark was amazing and we are confident our new dream home will soon have a dream pool, as well. Excellent, excellent service!

  Mark couldn't have been easier to work with. As a first time homebuyer, he walked me through EVERY step, kept me in the loop, and made me feel super comfortable going with him. Ultimately, I chose to go with Mark over another "better" offer because I had complete confidence that Mark was on my side and was going to help me with anything that came up. He even spent about an hour in person talking me through everything including what I should expect as the process continued on. I can't recommend him highly enough. If I end up going through this mortgage process again, I will DEFINITELY be talking to Mark first.

  We can not tell enough about Mark and his company....my husband and I have been looking for houses for months in Austin, offered on few houses, and had changes to our incomes and EVERY SINGLE TIME, Mark was available to talk and text. He is a true gentleman, caring for his clients and wanting to help them their dream house. My husband bought his current house with Marks help and mortgage, and he was so happy that we just had to work with him again and guess what, I just learned his local company and Mark care about you. Besides being available day and night, week day and weekend, he was honest, professional, and kind ....he answered every single question we had in matters of hours sometimes minutes. He showed up to our closing statement, stayed after closing, gave advices on our new house and new mortgage. His staffs are also very helpful and on time ...Nora and Tami. This is THE ONLY PLACE we will go for mortgage anytime we want to buy a house. Thank you Mark for simply being the very best in Austin!
