  I transitioned from BBVA in Texas and the difference in customer service and availability was incredible! The staff working are some of the the kindest and hardworking people I have run into. The best part is how personal it feels when even simply withdrawing cash from my account, I would absolutely recommend switching to this bank if anyone is in the area around them.

  I came from Citibank and the difference is night and day. Machias has been friendly, incredibly helpful and welcoming. They financed my home (challenging due to large acreage and multiple structures) with no hesitation when the big banks wouldn’t. We’ve switched all of our accounts including business accounts over. The rates aren’t the lowest, but they use “common sense lending” practices- which is refreshing.

  This would be 1 star except everyone that works at my branch and the customer service reps are nice on the phone (other than Shelby that audaciously stated "they cannot control the mail" when I called to follow up with my issue). January 14th I reported a lost debit card, this was lost with my entire wallet which contained everything I have in it. It is now February 3rd, my birthday as well, and I still have not received my debit card in the mail. At one point I was told there was an error shipping it out and it had been sent which was over a week ago yet it was not even shipped priority or overnight after they failed to initially ship the replacement card. So at the best, I will have waited for over 3 weeks to receive a replacement card. If anyone else would like to go more than three weeks with absolutely no access to your own money I would recommend this corporation. I rely on my money for food, rent, bills, transportation, and not to mention enjoying my own birthday, yet cannot access my money because of the horrendous response by this company due to my lost debit card. I would have started another bank account and wired my own money into a new bank had I known it would be this long because even the state of Illinois was able to provide me with a birth certificate quicker than this bank could supply me with a replacement card. Now that the rather slow branches of government have actually replaced my identification cards that were lost I will likely have opened a new bank account before my debit card finally arrives. I reside in Florida but work seasonally in Maine and would have liked to have had that checking account open and available. This should be a negative star review, however, due to the fact that the majority of the people I have interacted with are courteous I will make it two star. Seriously though, over three weeks with no replacement card and once they figured out there was a mistake it was not shipped with urgency. Unbelievable. Oh and now I have to get a cash advance loan to live, but their website is under maintenance so I cannot even access my online banking to print off a statement as proof of an account to receive my loan I am going to have to pay interest on because of their failure to execute one of the most simple of tasks.   This is the best bank I've ever used and I've used (Bank Of America, Citibank, and TD Bank). Their customer service sets the bar for every bank. The tellers know you when you drive up! MSB offered a program called, "small business college" that proved invaluable for me. I learned a lot in the sessions, but they also work with SBDC where I got one-on-one help to start my business. Through their programs I got thousands of dollars worth of professional advice for free! Also, a man that works for me hadn't had a bank account - ever. He'd been in prison so he thought he couldn't get one because other banks wouldn't let him open an account. MSB let him open an account, showed him how to use the phone app. You'd be surprised how just having a bank account improved his self-esteem and helped him to stay on a good path. MSB is a tremendous resource for our town. They have bought old antique buildings so that they can be saved for future. They also provide funds for all sorts of projects in the town from schools to landscaping. We are really fortunate to have Machias Savings Bank.

  New banking system is terrible. To put new system in during Covid -19 was a crazy idea. People out out of work, Kids unable to go to school and implement long distance learning are difficult enough. Dealing with a new banking system showed a total lack of respect towards their customers. The reason I am still banking with them are the employees. They are a group of employees who helped me in any way they could to help me with this new system. Management implemented this new system at the wrong time and it was not "AN EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE'

  I work for offerpad and keep trying to get in touch with reb ec ca or k i m. They keep sending us loan applications with other peoples personal information. Ive ttied calling but no one answers their email responce is deffinatly automated. No one to escslate too but you guys need to get this under control dony know who or if anyone id running this place but this is wrong.

  Been waiting on my loan app for months. I think thry just took my money and ran. Feeling like they tricked me. Only place i evet had yo make a down payment to apply.

  I've hesitated to write this review but it has happened again. About a year ago I deposited a rather large check into my account at MSB. A few days later I checked my balance and went back with my receipt to MSB and said it is not in my account. The teller just said ' Oops it just got put in another persons account above yours on the computer screen" No, I'm sorry nothing. Now 2 months ago I called MSB and told them I was going to be at another address for 7 months and gave that to them. They then spent the next 15 minutes asking me to name all the states I would be traveling to. My Visa card from MBS was to expire at the end of Nov. 2018 and I use that card to pay automatic bills. Would you know they sent the new Visa cards to my old address and that envelope got returned to them . They called me and asked for my new address again and had to re -forward that envelope. It's a close call to update all the companys that I use my Visa card. It's not exceptional service, it's just just words. Actions speak louder than words.
