  My parents went to this bank to try to refinance their home and they needed a translator to help them. The problem with this situation was the translator was one of their cashiers and she was very disrespectful. She was getting angry with my parents because she had to repeat herself a couple times. Very bad customer service! If you need to go to a bank go a credit union. They were able to help my parents with a smile on their faces!

  Terrible bank. Horrible customer service. My high school daughter has a part time job for which she gets paid once a month. The checks she receives are written from Macatawa Bank, and up until yesterday, she had no trouble cashing them. (forgot to mention she does not have an account at Macatawa). Suddenly now Macatawa Bank is charging people to cash checks that are drawn from THEIR bank. Seems odd to me and it makes me angry because my daughter is working very hard for her money and to have $5 taken for the simple fact of greed just makes me SICK. NEVER will we ever have accounts here. NEVER. Terrible horrible bank that is intent on making money, not on helping their customers.

  The customer service is non existent. Policy changes happen when you walk in and the view your appearance. Because I have a beard, I have to jump through hoops to cash a check. I was even swore at using the F word in front of my five year old daughter.

  It is standard practice to ask for a photo id when cashing a check for the security of our customers. It’s unfortunate that negative language took place in our lobby between two clients. We apologize your daughter had to hear that.

  I deal with this branch on a daily basis and the customer service is great. Even when they are short handed they are courteous and patient with me and other customers. Thanks for having a great team.
