  I had been looking for a home for the past few months and after finding it started thinking about my mortgage options. I knew my friend Matthew McDaid had recently made a purchase through Kalamazoo Mortgage and used his Veteran Benefit as I planned to do as well. I was pleased to find that Matthew McDaid was also working at Kalamazoo Mortgage because if there is one thing I know about him it's that he appreciates quality with his Section 1776 business and building positive business relationships. Any business that has those same principles will have my business. I stopped in and spoke with Ryan Rarick and within 5 minutes knew I was at the right place. He helped get my loan started that day and answered all of my questions. I then worked with Brea Staley who made sure all my documentation was in a and kept in constant contact with me along the way. Julie Brown always made sure that my paperwork got to the right place and that all of my questions were answered before I left. It was a wonderful experience and look forward to using them again on my next home purchase in the near future.   Scott Cowherd and the team at Kalamazoo Mortgage did an amazing job with our loan. They communicated throughout the process and made everything go smoothly. Some people I know who went through other banks for their mortgages closed in over 45 days. We closed in under 30 days, and from what I have heard, Kalamazoo Mortgage is the only place in town that can accomplish this. I highly recommend them!

  I started working with Kalamazoo Mortgage at the beginning of January to become pre-approved for my first home loan. I needed some work on my credit to get to the pre-approval step. I worked with Gary and he was very helpful with everything i needed to do to raise my credit score to where it needed to be. He had great recommendations and advice for me to help repair my credit score. Any questions or concerns i had he was quick to answer and take care of for me so that i understood everything and what the next steps would be. I have received my pre-approval with Gary's help, i appreciate everything he has done for me. Looking forward to working with my loan officers and finding my new home!

  If I could give Rochelle less than 1 star I would gladly do so. You could not pay me enough money to work with this company after dealing with this women. Nor would I work with anyone who was going through this company. She is the most unprofessional, dishonest person I have ever had to work with and very nearly caused us to lose our house due to her dishonesty, avoidance & flat out lies regarding her clients situation. It was the worst experience we've ever had to go through. Her boss/GM, Brad, was no better. Our realtor left several messages for him and he wasn't even professional enough to return a call. I feel sorry for their clients. I even waited several months to post this because I was so angry and wanted to be fair but, in all honesty, this review is very mild to what I would really like to say about these people.

  Jody - We are sorry we did not meet your expectations during the sale of your home. Unfortunately, we are very limited in the information we can share regarding our clients financial situation during the home buying process which is something we communicated to your agent multiple times. From time to time our clients allow us to share more detailed information with the selling agent during the loan underwriting process, however, it is not a requirement. As you may or may not know many things have changed during the Covid-19 pandemic and unfortunately some of the federal lending requirements adversely affected certain borrowers more than others and we are sorry if that was never communicated to you. We respectfully disagree on your assessment of Rochelle Birmann as her career and treatment of home buyers is very well documented on here and other platforms with hundreds of five-star reviews. We are happy that you were able to complete the sale of your home and wish you many years of happiness and memories in your new home!

  When thinking about buying or refinancing your home, the first name that should come to mind in the greater Kalamazoo area is Kalamazoo Mortgage. It was a pleasure working with Nate Lyster and his team. They provide outstanding customer service, treat you like you’re the only customer, and you can see the passion shine through in their work.
