My salesman Ahmed was very professional and made the experience extremely easy. I've been back a few times and each and every time the staff makes you feel like it's your first visit. I also enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to fight the traffic going to Raleigh to the dealership, the Durham location is perfect for me and I live in Apex. Dawn Taylor1Had an appointment to install crossbars for my GX on 6/22/20. After sitting in the waiting room for a hour, someone came to tell my husband they do not have the crossbars in stock, which they had when we made this appointment, however, my car was washed! The gentleman then went on to tell my husband that someone bought the crossbars sometime after the approved was made and it was forgotten to reorder the replacement crossbars. Unfortunately, now the crossbars are on back order. If you like the blame game, this is the Lexus dealerships for you! Both my cars are Lexus (one bought at this dealership) and very happy with the Lexus brand, but, appalled with the lack service at Johnson Lexus of Durham! Sadly, we will not buy from this dealership in the future.

Steve Glosson5If you are looking for a luxury vehicle new or preowned, look no further than Johnson Lexus of Durham. Excellent sales experience. Attentive but not pushy. We came interested in a specific car but asked questions about other Lexus products on the lot. Ian took the time to ask questions that let him know what we expected in a car. He carefully went through the features etc of each and we were able to choose the perfect car for us in regards to all of our ‘must haves’ including price! Mostafa and Daniel were very good at explaining the transaction process and additional products they offered. Again, attentive but not pushy. Mac closed the experience with a very patient overview of the car’s features and systems to a couple of technology challenged late middle agers.

Kevin Butler3Let me tell you a tale of two dealerships that have the same name. There's the dealership before I bought the car and the dealership since. In 2013, I was looking for a I250c convertible, but having a difficult time because of the color I wanted. Johnson was in another state, but they had the right car. During negotiations online, they were very reasonable. I sent a local friend to look over the car in person and they were very helpful. I flew down to get the car and they sent a driver to pick me up at the airport. Sure, the Lexus pick-up procedure is kind of silly (it's mandated that they put that red bow on the car and other things), but it's very much a luxury experience. They try hard to sell that. The staff was great and very attentive. The finance team was clear and easy to work with. The car was one year old with 8,000 miles on it. It still had much of its' warranty and I went ahead and got the service plan included. Everything was great and I headed out to drive my new purchase home. So far so good and several stars easily earned by a dealership willing to work with a weirdo who would fly to another state for a specific color car (don't judge me!) The problem came a few months later when I lost a tire. It essentially exploded while driving. Did a bunch of bodywork damage too. Further, another tire was about to go. So I have two tires that are bad on a car I just bought within 6 months. The tires are also ridiculously expensive (safety tip, when buying a car ask about how much to replace the tires.) Luckily, Johnson had included a tire replacement warranty. Here's where the problems begin. The tire warranty was provided by Performance Automotive Management, a sham company if ever there was one. They told me it would be 12 weeks before they "could" cut a check. That's just silly (USAA provided me insurance funds on the car damage in about 4 days.) Worse, it's been 4 plus months and they STILL haven't sent me a check. They also aren't responding. This is the company that Johnson used to provide me this tire coverage. So the dealer made a bad choice, I can live with that except for one thing. The dealership refuses to talk to me at all about the problem. Period. I have called, e-mailed, posted on their website. The one response I received was from a web contact manager who told me he forwarded my concerns on. Been a month, no further contact. Short of having my attorney send them letters or going back to Durham and sitting in their lobby, I'm not sure what else to do. Never have I been so resolutely ignored by an organization. So, if you are just looking for a good place to buy a car and NEVER talk with the dealership again, then Johnson is a solid choice. If you want to be completely ignored after purchase, then Johnson is a great choice! I'm sure my experience would be different if I was local and able to annoy them in person or I was a regular service customer and they saw immediate value in me. I'm betting I've been ignored as someone who won't ever buy from them again and they've already gotten their money from (no financing deal with them so there's not even that incentive.) I just expected better customer service, or you know, ANY customer service. I hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistakes. UPDATE: After many months, the Johnson staff did get in contact with me and worked to try and correct my problems. They did make a real effort and I appreciated it. Hopefully, my experience was an aberration.
