  The response to my very honest and critical review is "laughable" . Jon, Manager, is so uninformed with his response and did not bother to contact me directly to clarify this mishandling of my funds as a property owner. Taking the easy way out ..... for their own convenience ..... is typical of this company ! Island Realty is well aware of how to contact me, and yet no one has attempted to correct this VERY bad experience !! Still ..... BEWARE of this company .

  Rented a beautiful home near the beach over Memorial Day week. Our rental agent, Bo Farish , found us a home that was the perfect match for our family! We couldn’t have been more comfortable, or had more fun enjoying family an beach time. I highly recommend Island Realty, and if you want the perfect rental for your family, definitely ask for Bo.

  We have been renting various vacation properties through Island Realty for over 10 years. Our needs change with each return visit but there is always a property that is well suited for our family. Staff has always been helpful and accommodating. This is our favorite family vacation that has provided my family wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

  I am sure that Island Realty does a wonderful job with vacation rentals but as for long term rentals I would highly recommend to avoid if possible. I was a resident of a home on Sullivan's Island which was managed by them for about 2 years and was amazed at how terrible our property manager was. Having a back ground in property management I could relate to the difficulties in communication with the number of people one will have to have contact with. Our specific property manager was to say the least an ineffective communicator. Any sort of issue with the home that would require her assistance would require at least an email or two and a phone call. The property manager could never even get my email correct, mind you I had written it on our renewed lease as well as emailed her directly from it. I would have to have my roommate forward me any emails that came from her to be in on any sort of situation. As a final good-bye we were given a generous offer from the owner and were allowed out of the lease early with no penalty but our manager had to find a way to put a damper on this. Along with not including me on important emails on the offer as well as the details for moving out she used the incorrect name and filed deposit refund incorrectly. We specifically asked for two separate checks to mailed to one address but the logical thing to do in her mind was to send one check with the other name scribbled in. Fortunately my roommate and I are good friends and were able to split this accordingly but this could of gone much worse. All in all I believe the company itself is probably a great choice for vacation rentals judging by the other reviews but the employees they choose to represent the company for long term rentals are horrible and should be reevaluated if they are qualified for that type of position.

  My mother booked a vacation home for us to celebrate a milestone birthday, before the covid disaster hit. As we have visited Charleston in the past, we decided to return. Obviously we made plans pre-pandemic. Now in the midst of rising cases in South Carolina, we asked for a refund or flexibility and have contacted island realty several times starting in the spring. Of note, the majority of us live in the west. Two parties would have to fly which is obviously a no go. As residents of my state we would have to quarantine for two weeks on return and I cannot do that due to my job. Also due to my job it is irresponsible for me to travel into a high risk area. Therefore we choose to lose several thousand dollars for the week or part of the group will be driving to South Carolina. This kind of inflexibility forces people into decisions where they could be put at undue risk by the high numbers of Coronavirus cases and is unacceptable in a pandemic. I hope no one in my family contracts covid while in South Carolina due to a vacation agency who would not refund/reschedule.

  Horrendous. Terrible. Never again. Our rental was not cleaned prior to our arrival. Despite “extra cleaning due to covid” claims. Haha what a joke. Cigarette butts, trash in trash cans, FILTHY furniture, food in the rugs, broken dishwasher, gross gross gross. MULTIPLES TIMES we’ve ATTEMPTED to contact the rental company but we’ve had no response. Obviously they don’t care. They got our money. Will never return. Never recommend. And will warn everyone I know to use other rental companies unless they want a tragic stay at the beach. A simple phone call in response to our NUMEROUS voicemails would have gone a long way in remedying this situation. But again obviously they don’t care about their reputation or their rentals.

  Our Ac went out on our 3500 dollar rental house, can't get anyone out to do anything with it. We are burning up! Update : 3 days later AC still not working.......not acceptable island realty

  We have rented from them for years now. And, they are great and very personable. So many other rental places on the island, but this one is the best.

  Island Realty made our visit to Isle of Palms seamless. The office is centrally located and easy to spot (right on the corner). They were open after 5pm when we arrived. We walked into the office and met face-to-face with a member of their staff (instead of just picking up keys from a coded lock box). They gave us our welcome packet, and we were on our way. Once we entered the condo, emergency numbers and local business numbers were clearly posted in case we needed them. Our condo was clean and exactly what we expected. I hope to visit Isle of Palms again soon and will use Island Realty again!
