I needed to physically do a transaction in the Lacey branch that couldn't be done online. I checked the website to make sure it would be open and what, if any, restrictions were in place. There was no indication of a problem, but when I arrived at 4:30 the bank was dark and there was a sign on the door saying "Temporarily Closed" and advising to go to the Lakewood branch. There was no way I could get there before closing, and had I known the Lacey branch would be closed would have gone earlier. I called Customer Service and was told that they did not know the Lacey branch would be closed and that "temporary" closures typically were not posted on the website (which told me this has happened more than once before). I politely but strongly suggested that this represents very poor customer service, and that the bank take another look at the policy. I understand that with COVID there may be staffing issues from time to time, but to not make that information available to customers makes no sense. The best I can say is that the customer service representative was very polite and apologetic, and of course there was nothing she could do. I'll be giving some serious thought as to whether I want to keep doing business with this bank.

We have an account at this bank because have to for one of our businesses. This bank is so bad, we play a game with ourselves: How long and how many trips will it take to do a simple banking transaction? The record right now is three visits - to OPEN a savings account (when we already have a checking account!). I think the employee vacation and time off schedule is specially arranged to make it so that one pivotal person is out of the office and one other person is instructed to give inaccurate information as to when they will the back. The one person who is always there (and appears to be the manager or senior employee?) does not know anything about her job. I am not exaggerating - we have tried to open an account, do a wire transfer (ingoing and outbound) and deposit checks. There is a problem - with a dramatic, heavy sigh - as if these are out of the ordinary experiences. This goes down to something as fundamental as not being able to read the clock and telling us we have passed a time deadline that is over an hour in the future. Twice, we have walked out and gone through three extra steps to do the same transaction through a different bank because it is easier to perform the function and write a check to the reimburse the account than it is to do the service directly. One of their branches was actually "out of" cash when we came to withdraw less than $1,000 in funds. The experiences we have had are so ridiculous that it's almost an achievement to be this terrible at what you do!

We worked with Samantha (and Beka her assistant) in the Tacoma office. It took her 3 months with constant excuses to figure out, that the lien, she said was against our house, wasn’t real. It was some sort of “mix up”. The lien was dated before we actually financed our house through HomeStreet. How they “overlooked” an very important detail like a lien against the property is beyond me. We got stuck with a bill of over $200 for a lien release fee, that should have never been acquired. They started acting like this was our fault. In the end they stopped returning our calls and emails, without so much as an apology. We finally spoke to a manager and he had our loan refinanced in under 30 days. It took us months to straighten out this lien situation with our HOA. We are def not refinancing with them ever again

I like this bank. It's apperance was clean and tidy and they offered tea or coffee. I transferred to this bank following my personal banker Amber. I love her patients and her ability to explain the information about the different type of accounts. She is extremely professional and respects your privacy. If you like friendly this is a bank for you.

The ladies in there are so sweet, I went in looking for the jewelry store and got turned around. They guided me to the right door and even offered to walk me over. I got a good conversation and a cup of coffee. Such a nice welcoming warm place! If you want a bank with sweet girls come see these ladies!

People are great. But banks is very po-dunk and accounts have minimal security features.

The worst bank I could ever imagine. I recently started an account with them while I was going through my separation. I'm definitely headed back to WSECU as soon as possible. I've had one delay after another with my deposited funds & they just love wracking up their $30 fees. Worst bank ever.

      Response from the owner

Ryan Sweeney completely mishandled my mortgage. The day before closing on my new home he informed me I didn't get my FHA down payment loan. Why my mortgage was allowed to go as far as it did w/out Ryan Sweeney doing his job I'll never know. My home was packed up utilities shut off ect... His lack of action put me in a bad situation. NEVER do business w/ Home Street! Guild mortgage did more for me in 48hrs than this joker flim flam man Ryan Sweeney fumbled thew in over a month.

Try a different bank. Maybe one that doesn't give you grief when cashing a check. Funny bunch at the Lacey branch I tell you.

I had a horrible experience with a mortgage representative. I was treated with frustration for needing more clarification. I left feeling angry with the lack of customer service received. I would never recommend working with this bank if this is the way they allow their employees to work with potential customers.
