  I was applying for A refinance on my home. I was working with harford bank employee Branscome. Was told appraisal may be up to 750 but would only have to pay actual cost. Was concerned because a normal appraisal is only 200. He promised it wasn't accurate then I could contest it and have it reviewed. He had appraisal done... came in about 170k to low Because appraisal compared to non similar houses. When I told branscome he told me it was good and that nothing I could do. Also charged me $750 when appraiser only charged 400. This is not something I would like to have happen to me. Comparing my brick rancher to trailers is not an accurate comparison. Wasted my time and money. Hope this helps someone else.

To clarify, Harford Bank assisted you with the application process and would direct you back to the loan estimate they provided which contained the estimated appraisal fee. You paid that fee to the national lender, not to Harford Bank and Harford Bank does not receive any part of that fee nor has any influence over the amount of the fee.
