Hapo Community Credit Union Reviews

Stephen S.1Worst customer service of any credit union period! When attempting to get service, I am talked to like a poor performing employee waiting to hear "you're fired!" I think this credit union has forgotten to teach its employees that keeping customers will keep them paid. This place is supposed to work for me, not the other way around. I have called multiple times to gain assistance with GAP insurance claims process and repeatedly told they will not do it, it's the dealerships responsibility. The dealership says the GAP coverage and contract is for, and given to, HAPO. Back and forth! I specifically asked to be contacted by a person who is knowledgeable, to point me in the right direction, but instead of getting a call, I am told it is too easy for me to call them. I was also repeatedly told it was a simple process to file the GAP claim, yet no one would fill me in on this simple process. It's simple, yet HAPO will not do it, or tell you how it's done. "Go through the dealership." Dealership says "go through the leinholder." Both of them are sorry businesses. Once they get paid, you get no service! I went with HAPO because they gave me a little better interest rate. A little higher rate is worth it for me to stay loyal to my long-time credit union. I regret using HAPO and will close my accounts. I will never recommend their services (and piss poor customer service) to anyone!

durga victorine (Durga)5Sasha Hauser has been the brightest and most pleasant person to work with in years. She was very helpful and had great advice on a multitude of matters that helped me with my business, my home equity, and helped my daughter improve her credit. Few interactions with an institution have been as pleasant as she made "handling business".
Response from the ownerThank you Durga! We are so glad Sasha defied your expectations!

Tom Montgomery5When I traded my 2019 Harley Ultra in on a Tri Glide at Rattlesnake Hills Harley of Kennewick, I financed the new one with HAPO of Richland. Being from the West Side I had never heard of HAPO before, but their 2.99 % loan looked good to me! The payments were really low, so doubled them up and then paid it off with a lump sum payment just before a year. They were excellent to work with and I wholeheartedly endorse them. If I need another loan in the future, I'll go straight back to them for sure!
Response from the ownerThank you for the great feedback Tom! We would love to work with you on your next auto loan.

EI8HT 8IT1What a terrible credit union. 3% APR = 25% of your total loan. Wont allow you to pay off the loan early without driving 3 hrs to their office or mailing a cashiers check. Send them a check to pay off and they charge you $30 interest for the few days it took in the mail. Any other lender is better than HAPO.
Response from the ownerThank you for your feedback. Would you be willing to fill out our feedback form at https://hapo.org/feedback and provide more information? This will allow our team to look into your account and loan details.

David Winters1My truck loan was held by Hapo. I called in to get a 10 day pay-off amount so I could pay off the loan. I submitted the payment on Aug 19th. They said the payment needed to be made by Aug. 29, 2020. The check arrived Aug. 28th but they didn't deposit it until the following Monday, which was past the 10 day pay-off period. So now they are asking for another $10 of interest. It's not the money that's the problem, it's the principle. The lady on the phone isn't helping either. I DON'T RECOMMEND WORKING WITH HAPO.
Response from the ownerHi David. I completely understand your frustration.
