Kimberly McFerron1I called HAPO because when my husband and I leased our car Honda decided to do a pull for purchasing options and HAPO was one of the lenders they sent an inquiry to (we are not HAPO members). This is not something we were interested in nor something we asked for. When we brought this to Honda's attention they said that they could not remove the inquiry and told us we would need to request the inquiry be deleted either by the credit bureaus or by the banks themselves. So of course I called all three bureaus and they each said the same thing- each of the banks would have to be called individually and we would have to request a deletion letter for the inquiry. So I sit on hold with HAPO for 30 minutes waiting to speak to a customer service rep. Initially she was quite friendly and helpful. When I explained the situation to her she placed me on hold to see if this was something they could accommodate. When she returned her demeanor had completely changed. She was rude, curt and wholly unhelpful. She gave me multiple excuses for why they couldn't produce a deletion letter (two of which contradicted one another), why it wasn't their problem, and implied that it was my fault that Honda had done the inquiry and not their problem. I reiterated that both Honda and the credit bureaus said I needed to take it up with the banks and that I was just looking for resolution. She cut me off to tell me they wouldn't help me and rushed me off the phone. So I suppose I'm glad I'm not a member? But I also absolutely would not recommend if you like the kind of customer service that is helpful, solution-oriented and generally treats people like people.

Andrea Osorio5This place has always been very nice but yesterday my mom stopped by to deposit a check and she came home telling me how nice it was to have a conversation with someone who was wanting to know about her day and her job. My mom mentioned to me that she will be going back to “Nellie” as she made her feel extremely comfortable and like she mattered. My mom mentioned that her customer service is absolutely amazing and that HAPO needs more people like her.

Pam Shelton1NOT HAPPY with HAPO at all!!! Went through HAPO for an auto loan because we thought doing business locally was best. A few days ago, we went into the bank to pay off our auto loan. Was quoted the payoff amount and paid right then and there with the teller. A few days later, I received a letter telling me the loan isn't paid off. Called HAPO and was told the teller quoted me the wrong amount. The teller looked up the loan. How can you quote me the wrong amount???? Not impressed. I won't use HAPO again for any other banking or loans!

Andrew3*Updated Their credit card payment system is broke in that you pay your monthly amount, but if it isn't during a "window" time of the month, it doesn't count and they charge you. Or their overdraft fee of $28, but they don't tell you (through email or phone call or anything) that you are overdraft, just so they can continue to kick you while you're down. Over the 10 years I've been with them, I've only become more and more disappointed with them. -Update: I have improved the review by a star. The above has not changed and I stand by what I said there, but I recently contacted HAPO in need of forms for tax reasons. It was obvious that they went the extra step to take of my needs and quite quickly to boot. Thank you Ashleigh Emery.

Sergio Jimenez4Customer service is great and banking woth them is easy and convenient! The only issue I have is that they close disputes without giving a call back or letter first. Happened twice but other than that, great bank.

CHARISE SIMONE1Worst place to go for banking. They "forgot" to mail my card multiple times. They also have awful customer service. The tellers give you false information. I have 3 loans with them and each loan they lied on the information. For beginners who are still building and learning credit do NOT come here. They dont deserve even a full star unfortunately

Your better off banking with a real bank with great customer service. I would never recommend hapo to anyone. I urge anyone who reads this to look for another bank

Sometimes I just don't have time to fill out a deposit slip and I have never heard a teller complain to me about that. They just get me taken care of and send me off with a smile.
