  Would not recommend at all. My boyfriend reached out to Derek to get a meeting set up and from the beginning it was hard to get in contact with him. My boyfriend would call and email with preliminary questions and never got an answer. A last minute meeting got set up and I got to the meeting after my boyfriend (as I had an hour drive) and Derek didn't even take the time to introduce himself to me, which I found to be unprofessional. Our meeting was fine but he doesn't take the time to actually explain things in a way a first-time home buyer would understand and the meeting felt rushed. He told us he would work some numbers and would be sending us some informative videos... it's been over a week and we still haven't heard from him. Not a single email or call. We will no longer be working with Guild Mortgage. We will now be starting our process over with a different company who values communication with clients.

  I had a pleasure working with Derick and his team on refinancing my home. You can understand how excited I was coming from 5% interest loan to 3% loan interest. All thanks to Derick and his team for going above and beyond. They did not give up even though there were some complication throughout the process. They were more responsive then I was throughout the process. Thank you Derick.

  We contacted Guild mortgage because they were recommended by our realtor. Initially we were going to do a USDA loan, however the home we chose needed work that our realtor didn't think would pass the inspection. We spoke to Derek and he recommended a 203K loan. We went under contract and interviewed tons of contractors. During the process I had a very difficult time finding contractors. I would call or text Derek with questions regarding the process and majority of the time he said he was out of the office and would contact me back but that contact never came. Other times he would say he would get me information but never followed through. My realtor finally put us in contact with some contractors and we inked out our plans, paid almost a grand for a septic inspection, back and forth to the house (45 minutes each way). Got all the paperwork completed and turned in. Then I had an inspection question to which he actually did respond and said we were good to go. That was Thursday. On Friday I reached out to confirm nothing else was needed, no answer. Saturday my realtor says she talked to him and his company no longer offers 203K loans! He never reached out to me with an explanation. I messaged him. Called his desk and cell and left messages just wanting an expression of how we went from "good to go" on Thursday to no loan on Friday. I also reached out to Rob Denning and he said he would call me back and never did. I guess that's just how they do business. I wouldn't recommend trusting something so important and personal to them. UPDATE: I went to their website and found leadership. I saw Mary Ann McGerry at the top listed as CEO, Partner, put two and two together and guessed at her email since I could not find it on the site. I emailed her and received a phone call from a Catherine in CA who took down the address of the property to be purchased and said she was going to look into it and call me back the next day. She apologized for the experience, I thanked her for calling. Later that night I got an email from an escalations rep stating someone would be back in touch with 30 days! I did not heat back from Catherine so I guess escalations was her way of removing herself from the equation. I can't wait to recieve this response.

  My husband and I had the most amazing experience buying our first home, thanks to Derek and Team and Guild Mortgage in Clive, Iowa! We started the loan application process in mid-May and we closed on our dream home today, June 18th! Everyone was so helpful, answered all of our questions, took the time to explain everything that was new to us as first time buyers, took all of my calls (I called a LOT) and seamlessly guided us through the entire process. Our rockstar realtor Kristi Pitz (ReMax) even commented at closing that Derek and Team at Guild Mortgage were the absolute easiest to work with and is also sending her clients their way! I am not kidding, we had a completely stress free experience and I have been raving to everyone that I can about how awesome Guild Mortgage is!

  Very poor service they ignore calls and suggest things they are not familiar with and refuse to explain the whys from the top to the bottom very poor service.
