Guild Mortgage Company Reviews

Jennifer at Alexander Rlty5As a realtor, I’ve worked with Tony Roppa numerous times. He always does a great job! Quick pre-approvals and very responsive to calls and questions. He’s one of the few lenders that still shows up to closings, which my buyers greatly appreciate. Guild has a great follow up program that includes Tony and myself on all mailing/emails, etc… Don’t hesitate to use Guild Mortgage and Tony Roppa as your preferred lender!

S.S.5My trusted coworker and friend referred me to Jack Buck after I talked with him about the concerns I had with the broker who was previously assisting with my mortgage. During our first phone call, Jack answered my questions, explained the process, and set realistic expectations of how the process would play out. He put me at ease; I trusted him. I am now the owner of a beautiful condominium 😁. Everything went as we planned- we even closed on the day initially set upon submitting my offer to buy. Jack is my go-to mortgage professional. I will tell my friends & family about Jack without hesitation. It has been three weeks since I closed; there still haven't been any hiccups or surprises presented to me! My only concern is Jack my be happily retired by the next time I'll need a new mortgage.

Christopher Barnes2Let me start off by saying that Bryan did a terrific job helping me through the initial pre-approval process, and answering all my questions. After I put my offer in, the appraisal was ordered almost instantly. It really did feel like I was in good hands. Where things started going downhill was the underwriting/final approval process. About a week before closing, I was asked to submit documents. After submitting documents, I was issued a loan commitment letter (the typical process). Then, the day before closing (several days later), I was informed that even more documents were needed (ASAP) to close. I did provide the documents, but was shocked, as I had thought that based on the commitment letter, the loan was approved. I was willing to let this slide however, because I figured the underwriting department was very busy with an onslaught of applications. What put me over the edge was the fact that I was asked for another paystub (again ASAP) after closing had already been completed. I was told "sorry, covid has shortened our timelines." Somehow, in both cases, an oversight by the underwriting department became my emergency. I wish the employees handling my application had been more forthright with what was needed throughout the process, rather than waiting until the last minute to double check that everything was taken care of (AFTER CLOSING!!). COVID-19 has become an overused catch-all excuse for poor customer service, and that is unfortunate. I will likely look elsewhere for my next mortgage, which is unfortunate, because Bryan was awesome. But I do not want to repeat the rollercoaster of stress caused by the experience I had.

Alyssa Lipsinsky1If I could give 0 stars, I would. Worst mortgage company ever. We had been making our payment out of one account and suddenly they couldn't pull from that account, so told us that we had to transfer our money to a different account, so we did and made the payment. They still tried to pull from the other account which bounced, I got charged a fee, and then they put our mortgage account on some kind of certified payment thing and refused to look into it. The manager was horrible. Hanging up one me once, so I had to return the call. He REFUSED to answer my questions and would only give me an email to contact someone about our account. I now have to send in a certified payment for mortgage for 6 months, even though it was their fault. And they refuse to do anything about it. As well as they are so unorganized. Half the time things arent in our notes and they have no clue what is going on.

Patrick Jamison4I purchased a home in June, using cornerstone, it was their IL office. As far as time table, we closed on time, without any surprises at closing.Everyone was polite and very professional, and took the time to explain everything to me as many times as I needed. I was very impressed when I asked Mike Voght, my loan officer, to explain it to me like I'm 5. He did, very well and without even a hint of condescension. The rest of the staff I interacted with was just as polite and down to earth. I highly recommend these people, they are extremely down to earth, polite people that know how to get things done.

Stephanie D5I have been a customer of Cornerstone Mortgage since 1996. That's 22 years! During that time I have purchased four homes and completed several refinances with Brad Bradford. Each transaction perfectly executed - no game, no gimmecks, fair fees fully explained upfront . If your family is searching for a ethical, transparent and highly professional mortgage company, Cornerstone Mortgage is the firm I would recommend.

Kasey Owens1Do not use this company! They are horribly unorganized and can not offer a solution. They lost our house payment and cant find it, even when tracking and proof of signature was provided. I will never use them again and will be sure to share our terrible experience with everyone.
