Spoke with Grow Financial on 12/31/2021 they told me I was about 3 months behind on my payment and for that owed a total of $680, I told the representative that I had $250 then and would have the rest a week later on the following Friday 01/07/2022, the representative asked me if I didn't have a friend of family member I could borrow money from, which was kind of weird coming from a bank, I said I'm pretty much alone, I have been through a rough patch but I have been paying the loan for over 3 years so please don't take my car for an extra week or $680, she said there was nothing she could do it was either the $680 or the vehicle. Incredible after years of paying now when recovering from a pandemic, Grow Financial wants to repo my car for $680 or an extra week, thanks for the push down Grow

      Response from the owner

Customer service and caring for their customers are non-existent at Grow Financial. My grandfather got me an account when I was young back when it was Macdill Federal.Credit Union. Back then it was much more customer oriented. I ended my account long ago. Im on my wifes credit card she has through Grow and she was late on a payment at the height of the covid crisis so they give us a bad score at the credit bureau. She calls them to apologize and inform them it was an oversight and asked if they would tske the 30 -day late notice off our credit. They smugly said, no. Even with a long history with them, 4 or 5 vehicles we've paid off with them, and other loans we've had in the past with no problems and all paid off without issue, they still refused. Everytime we delt with them its always the same smug, snobby attitudes. Just know if you decide to bank at Grow Financial, you are just a number to them. You and your family mean nothing....not even with all the Covid stuff going on. Find another credit union that cares more about their customers.

STAY AWAY! Antiquated systems and uninformed employees. Unfortunately, this long standing institution has NOT kept up with the most basic level of services. 1. Checking account online will NOT show you a copy of your deposited checks. If you deposit a handful of checks or receive a random check there is no way for you to see a copy of the check online. AND they will charge you if you ask for a copy to be sent to you. Come on guys, this is one of the EASIEST most basic services provided even by the smallest institutions. 2. None of their websites have the latest security standards. The sits ALL "contain content that could compromise your security". Go see for yourself 3. Spoke to 3 representatives, 2 via phone, 1 inside branch and NONE of them are familiar with the website nor anyway how to view checks after you hand them to them...without paying for it. It feels like you are in a sitcom. Closing my account today, unfortunately.

Signing up was a decent experience. The lady helping me was nice and knowledgeable. She unfortunately spelled my names wrong and when I received my card I went to the bank to have it corrected. The concierge told me she could not change my Name without an ID, rudely, no eye contact. It’s understandable I can’t make the change to I run across the street and grab my ID from my job and come back. She has another customer and tells me I need to wait. I sit ignored for 15 min until the customer leaves. Attitude shifts from nice and respectful to the other customer but to me bland and like I’m an inconvenience. She changes my name and says 7-10 business days for my new card to come in the mail. I ask in the meantime can I still use the one I currently have. She says “no because you have no money in your account” I say I understand that but can I use the card. She now says “no there are no funds” I say aside from that am I able to use the card? (Mind you I also need to make a deposit) she says “you are able to use the card but you can’t because you have no money in your account.” The concierge said I had no money loudly for everyone to hear multiple times. She understood my question but wanted to be nasty to the young black boy trying to update his name. Will return early tomorrow to cancel my membership when I can get better assistance. My thing is, if employees are that unhappy with their job and life, why would I want to be a part of it?

Went into the branch this morning to open a new account with my brother. Checked in and asked to be seated. No one else in the waiting area. Sat directly in view of the 2 people in their offices with no one in their spaces. No customers at the service line. Employee walked out of her office, looked at us, returned to her office and picked up the phone. Upon leaving all desk employees on the phone and no one attempted to stop us... reminder- no other customers in the store. Must have been that I was in shorts and a t shirt in FL and didn't fit the profile of a regular customer. Very disappointed. How do you let a customer that walks into your store, says, "I'd like to open an account" just walk out when there are no other customers in the building...about 10:40am on Friday 2/17/17 check the cameras.

      Response from the owner

Grow Financial as a whole is a decent credit union. With that being said this is definitely their worst location. Always seemingly understaffed even on Fridays. Two bank tellers and easily 15+ people in front of me trying to cash paychecks.
