I am fairly new to El Paso and purchased a new vehicle through a local Jeep dealership. I selected GECU as my loan provider due to the fact that they are local, fairly large and provided a great interest rate. This was a huge mistake and I wish I could undo this. It's 2022, yet GECU has no easy convenient way to pay this loan payment if you're not banking with them. I have to jump through hoops just to make my payment. I found the easiest way to be through the automated phone system, which is still difficult and charges a $5 convenience fee. I was told that the best way to avoid this hassle is to open and utilize a checking account with them, which I have zero interest in doing. I have been with my bank forever and do not intend on switching. This is just a sleezy way for them to gain more of your business. The other way would be to use my bank's bill pay service. These bill pay services have always been unreliable and I don't know a single soul who actually uses them. GECU get with the times. Make it easy to make your payment!! Until this is corrected, I would suggest declining a GECU auto loan unless you already bank with them. It will be a frustrating nightmare just trying to make your payment.

No sympathy for a family member who has passed. They will charge you multiple overdraft fees after freezing your accounts. DO NOT BANK WITH THEM.

Great service. A ton of locations throughout town, and really helpful. The perfect credit union.

They should be shut down. My kid is 18 and I was with him when he deposited. The teller completely put his deposit in the wrong account and they zapped him with a hefty fee. He was also supposed to have overdraft protection but apparently didn't. Pretty sad what you do to a young teenager who goes to school and does things right and struggles to make $130 a week. Disgusting practices!

I’m very disappointed with what’s happened with this credit union. My dad has banked here religiously and he’s a senior without a whole lot of money. They charged him more than $100 in fees because the teller deposited to his savings instead of his checking account. We’re looking for a new bank for him now. Shame on you GECU

If I could give it 0 stars I would! My husband and I bought a car in both of our names and was reprocessed as collateral. Long story short Husband's X wife was supposed to refinance the car that was in my husband's name and gave her 1 year to do it and it was ordered in the divorce decree. His x wife decided after a year she did not want the car and bought herself a new car in her name and voluntarily gave the car back to the bank. Next thing I know GECU collected my car with both mine and my husband's names on it and kept it as collateral. Payments were made on a timely matter but because Husband's x wife reneged on the court order I'm stuck without a car. Do not do any business with this bank.

What is the purpose of all these micro banks, if you still have to wait such a long time, Parking is horrible, I'm at my 3rd bank trying to simply deposit at check, oh yeah, when the ATMs are working. Customer service in my opinion is horrible!!!!

I had banked with Evolve when it was El Paso Employees FCU and my experience was second rate, very frustrating, and unprofessional on their part. I switched to GECU four years ago and have been very happy. GECU has employees who have been trained to be professional and pleasant. I have had payments reversed when they have been applied incorrectly by me; I have had overdraft fees removed when the situation did not warrant them; and I have been given credit opportunities despite my bankruptcy. It's a large organization, but it functions well and for the benefit of its customers. I am not nickeled and dimed and I don't pay any fees whether I bank on-line or in-person.

Customer Service is always great. Just don't understand why such a huge building and has it as a drive thru only. Had to drive to Viscount to meet with a teller.
