FNBO - First National Bank of Omaha Reviews

Xixi Lin1The most terrible bank ever. They closed my credit cards without reasons. They gave such a short notice. Now all the cash rewards associated with my credit card has to be surrendered. Think twice when you want to open an account with FNBO. Strongly not recommended.

Jesslyn Schroeder5I fell victim to some sort of scam/unauthorized funds on my first national bank checking account. It was devastating and stressful. When I went to the bank off Cass Street, Evan Gurney was able to help me relax and feel better about the whole situation. He’s stuck with it throughout the investigation with the fraud team. He always responds to my phone calls and genuinely cares about helping his customers. First National Bank of Omaha is lucky to have him as a senior banker!
Response from the ownerWow, we were blown away by your positive words, Jessica! We really appreciate the time you took to write such a detailed review— and we agree, Evan is truly a gem to have on our team! We count ourselves lucky for customers like you. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

Jorge Guzman1Just an awful experience when I needed them the most. I became unemployed due to covid and recently started doing work as a graphic designer and video editor. I got my first big project which was paid to me via a check. When I went to cash the check they said they couldn't because my account didn't have enough to cover if the check bounced. I was told that Monday first thing in the morning I would have my funds but guess what happened, it didn't clear. Next time I prefer going to Walmart and paying the fee to have my funds available right away. They also informed me Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon is considered 1 business day, like what????? I get the weekend but Friday and Monday as one business day!!! Only reason I seriously haven't closed my account is because my wife has an FNBO account and makes it easier for transferring funds but I'm so feed up, Im going back to my capitol One bank account.

Ivory Fleury1Terrible customer service from a woman named Kristina in the drive thru. I know we all have bad days but before we could even respond to how we wanted our withdraw back she exited the window screen abruptly and sounded like she hated her job and was just rude in general. We come to this location often and have never had an issue until today. I understand dealing with the public can be a lot but seriously worst experience ever.

Kathleyn Rice2Upon trying to withdrawal money from a check I had given the day before, I was told that because the bank the check was being pulled from wasnt well known or known to fnbo at all - I would need to wait at least a week for the check I deposited to be cleared despite the online account stating it was available. The clerks were extraordinarily rude in handling this hurdle. When asking for the amount to write out, they announced it loudly three different times to the other clerks in the room and anyone that might have overheard the intercom. Thereafter, in telling me the reason, they flagrantly insinuated that the other institute did not exist because they could not find a phone number for it on google given the check is written from Tennessee (from my father, two weeks before Christmas). The branch near 78th and Cass has only ever acted out their deep-seeded classism and assumed ageism.
Response from the ownerKathleyn, we're sorry to hear about any inconvenience you may have experienced. Customer service is very important to us and we appreciate you taking time to voice your concerns. We will make sure to pass this feedback on.

Kurai Hyo1I use this location do to it being close to my home. It is by far the worst experience I have had with fnbo. I have been treated rudely and even had it implied the money I have put in my account was probably ill gotten. Been going for almost a year now and started my account two decades ago. I am thinking it might be time to find a more respectful bank. Might be worth the company's time to monitor how this location treats it patrons.
Response from the ownerKurai, we're sorry to hear about any inconvenience you may have experienced. Customer service is very important to us and we appreciate you taking time to voice your concerns. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please give us a call at 402-602-5866.

Shelby Powell5My pups and I love coming here! They are always very friendly and efficient. Wait times are usually not too bad, unless it is a busier time (5-6 pm). The staff always greets myself and my two dogs by name and gives them plenty of treats! I'm honestly surprised at the poor reviews; in my two years of coming to this branch I have never had a bad experience!

katya32is4I have been with them off and on for over 3 years now. I have had a bad time of it, and also a pleasant time too. I just always seem to have a problem with the ATM deposit working properly. I really wish they would get that fixed for us graveyard shift workers. I have come to really love not having to make a special trip for the deposit during my beauty sleep hours. For about 4 months now it is hit or miss whether or not it chooses to accept your deposit or spit it back out at you. Please if you are reading this... fix that thing already.
Response from the ownerWe apologize that your recent experience with our bank has been frustrating and appreciate you taking time to voice your concerns. In the future, if you are experiencing issues with our ATM, please give us a call at 1-800-642-0014. Please note, customers who have enrolled in online banking can also make mobile deposits using their mobile phone for their convenience.

Erin Pankowski1I have to use this bank location for the retail store I manage. They often make the business line wait until all of the regular customers are taken care of before they will count my deposits. I often have to wait for an extended amount of time. I do not recommend this bank. Especially this branch.
Response from the ownerErin, so sorry to hear about the inconvenience and your recent experience. Please let us know if there is anything we can assist you with in the future. I will make sure to pass this feedback onto our customer experience team and the branch themselves.

Megan Kuehler2I frequent that bank because of location only, not for service. Several times I have been there, it is busy, regardless of the time of day. It's one of the few locations with the deposit boxes, so you have to wait for bankers to deal with people who want in their boxes a lot of the time. A few times I've witnessed the branch manager be unpleasant to other bankers and customers. I will only go to this branch if I have to do banking through a teller or the ATM, I will not do business there that involves account maintenance or otherwise. I will give positive feedback for their tellers, Jerrod who is currently there is very pleasant and helpful, and most of their other tellers are.
