Flagstar Bank Home Lending Reviews

Kellie Holder1They charge you a $50 fee for no reason at all on your home loan. Will only give us 3,000 of our insurance money for our roof and no contractor will touch it without atleast half up front. Took us a whole year to even get the $3,000. It still can not get our roof fixed. When we would call a very rude guy would answer and tell us we are trying to play games when all we want is our money to fix our roof.

Me Turner1They deserve no stars. I had the worst experience ever. I pay my insurance premiums but Flagstar has now stepped in as the owner. My house was damaged during Hurricane Ida. Sixty days later I still have tarps on the roof and Flagstar complicating things even more. Requesting an affidavit and their own inspector come out before I can have funds released. Where were they when I was paying to have the roof tarped and wet walls cut, debris removed and dry out process. My loan was sold to them. Once my house is repaired, I will be refinanced.

Bridgette B.1Customer service reps don't seem knowledgeable, they all tell you something different. It's way too complicated to set up bi-weekly mortgage autopay.

Dennis Kelley1Worst experience I’ve ever had with securing a construction loan. I will never work with them for any reason in the future.

Valerie Vining2I used them to refinance my home mortgage, and it sucked, They have terrible costumer service , and their communication sucks. I'm only writing this review to try to save someone else the pain of having to deal with this company. I wished someone would have warned me too.

Mark Roberts1First off - 1 star is still to many! Worst Experience of my life!!! I have never been treated so bad by a company. NEVER NEVER USE THIS BANK!! Backstory - my house flooded in October of 2019 and I found a contractor who jumped through hoops to try and complete the work so my family can spend Christmas back in the house (because of course this happened right through the holidays). Even with that, it was AFTER all the work was completed that came the nightmare with Flagstar. My Insurance company sent me 4 large checks over a 4 month window, which I then had to send to the Flagstar loss team. At this time, the only problem I encountered was getting anybody to pick up the phone or reply to an email. But, I still received the checks back so I could at least pay the contractor. Now for the REALLY FUN PART 😊 - the last and final check. Unlike the rest of the checks Flagstar would not indorse this check that I just paid $150 to have it next day delivered with a return envelope. Which ended up taking right at a week and a half for them to get this check put into the system to tell me I had to endorse the check first before they would send the released funds. So a few days later, I received the check, I went ahead endorsed the check spent another $150 for next day air with a return envelope. After multiple attempts to contact them via email, a week later, I was FINALLY able to get somebody on the phone who instructed me that most of the paperwork was not completed or blurry. Now, this was the first time anything about paperwork being blurry Had been said to me. I asked for an accurate and inclusive list of ALL paperwork that needed to be updated and resubmitted everything. One nightmare about dealing with Flagstar lost department is everything is sent to an email which apparently is a giant black hole and it is absolutely amazing and how many emails get lost missed placed or overlooked. – Yet again, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. This process took around another three months from the time I sent all the paperwork in to the loss department being able to find and get my records updated. Roughly 3 weeks ago, I spoke to a manager on the phone who insured me that all paperwork was completed my check would be sent out in the mail I should receive it within 2 to 3 business days – THREE WEEKS AGO! So today, once I finally get a hold of somebody - because nobody will answer my emails. Now, they tell me that they need to perform another inspection because I guess the first inspection where they say my house is 100% complete is no longer valid. I was on the phone with Maria for roughly 15 minutes when I ask her to escalate my call because I feel like I am being completely mistreated by this company - she let me know that Leslie her area manager was not available to take a call so I told her I would remain on the line until I can speak to somebody because I cannot believe how badly I am being treated. OVER AN HOUR LATER, Andrea from the Fort Worth branch gets on the call and literally tells me there’s nothing I can do the initial inspection is no longer good, and there’s absolutely nothing I can do until they receive this inspection which will take up to seven days. Mind you the first inspection was 100% complete and good to go. It has become very apparent to me that Andrea and Leslie out of the Fort Worth branch have zero customer relations experience. I have NEVER been treated this badly in my entire life from a company who is refusing to issue MY check from MY insurance company. This is Flagstar doing everything in their power to steal this money from me or just try to make me go away. This experience has been so bad I literally refinanced my house to get away from this company because of how horrible their treatment has been. This is the FIRST review I have ever written in my entire life. Run far, far away from this organization as this is the worst experience of my entire life as far as dealing with a company that is supposed to be there to make your life easier in times of need

Connie Wang1This bank is very shady, and greedy. Recently, my loan was told from Caliber to Flagstar and flagestar charge fees to cancel escort. My original loan has no cost closing escort account. I already has paperwork in Caliber to request closing the escort account without any extra cost. The customer support from escort team sucks!

purelements carpet1They charge a $30 fee to provide a payoff of your loan Which most customers probably don’t even realize it’s happening because the title company request this and they approve the $30 fee and then gets paid when the house sells so no one sees it so they thought it would be smart to charge a $30 fee because no one knows about it completely dishonest

Mary Jarvis1Many problems with this bank. Difficult to setup auto payments. Poor phone help. I pay on time for a year, then they dispute my auto payments.
