Caden Dalton5Excellent Credit Union. I both work and bank here and am pleased with the work we do at FirstUS. We are not perfect, but we do our best to offer quality service and are always looking for ways to improve and better serve the community at large.

Richard Joos1It's a very sad day, after almost 50 years of banking with First US (Federal) Community Credit Union, we are forced to leave. First US treats new accounts better than those of us who have been with them for 50 years. The manager, Caden, told me he could do nothing and would not do anything to be fair with us. He said, we could NOT get same benefits as new customers. So my advice to NEW and Old customers, leave this bank!!! No loyalty from Caden nor First US Community CU. This is how big business is going. Shame on you and your Board of Directors for letting this happen.

Nigel Quinn1Deceptive banking practices. Tried to cancel my account - instead this Credit Union keeps charging me a monthly fee. Took out a "free" HELOC some years ago but never have used used. Now changed a $250 fee to close it out.

Leigh Leigh1Terrible. Tried to cash a check written from an account holder of their bank and was treated like a criminal. Glad I closed my account with this place years ago. Find another bank to use this place is godawful

James Sims1My overall experience with this bank has been very poor. I have been yelled at, drilled and belittled by more than 1 employee. and they have done nothing to solve the issue. The most recent experience the teller yelled at me that they were not going to give me the money out of my savings account because I had a small negative balance in my checking, which would have been taken care in a few days with my direct deposit. Every one in the branch heard it and it was very embarrassing and degrading. please beware.
Response from the ownerI am so sorry that you had a negative experience. It is never our intention to make you feel other than a valued member of the credit union. Please contact us directly via phone and I am sure that we can resolve the issue. It is unfortunate that you feel that other people could hear your interaction. We take your privacy very seriously. We will remind our staff that they should be aware of others around when discussing personal matters.

Kim Johnson1By far the worst financial institution I've every done business with. I'm very grateful I didn't trust a sizable amount of savings with them. I can't even get the small amount I have with them back to me even after submitting a letter to Account Closures.
Response from the ownerI'm sorry for the misunderstanding. We have discussed this internally and I understand that somebody has been in contact with you and that this matter is resolved.

Tristan1I used to really like them until they made me pay for something that was not my fault... Im Single live on my own and barely making enough money to feed myself and I had to come out of pocket 30 dollars because nobody told me I needed to stop my automatic payments when I got an extension on my car loan... so heres the story. Im very sick and I had to go on disability for a couple months which means I won't be making enough money. So they approved my extension on my car loan... But didnt tell me I needed to stop my automatic payments... how was I supposed to know I needed to do that I thought it would just stop because I got the extension... so My rent comes out of my account that I bank with and thennn my car payment which I was supposed to have extended goes out??? So Im in a panic because now my account is over drawn and affraid of getting a withdrawal fee I call my bank bexause well this is at 1130 at night and first Us is not open.. they told me i could do a stop payment but itd cost me 30 dollars... so I did it but the next day my account was still over drawn so I called First Us and I told them I did a stop payment but the money was not in there yet.... and they told me oo they probably couldnt stop the payment. So the banker told me to pick the money up at a shared bank sooo I did and I put that money in my account so that I wasnt overdrawn anymore... everything was fine untilll the stop payment went threw even tho the lady said it wasnt going to and guesss whatttt now Im withdrawn at First Us!!! But since my bank charged me 30 dollars for the Stop payment I didnt have the full amount anymore!!! And im telling the lady at first Us I cant afford this I dont even have money for food and shes over there worried about my Credit card payment... pooor customer service.. so now im running back and forth between banks and out 30 dollars because of First Us and there miscommunication... Im just so done .
Response from the ownerHi Tristan. I’m sorry to hear that we didn’t meet your expectations with this transaction. Someone will reach out to you to explain why this happened, and we look forward to working with you to make this right!

Carolyn Reuben4My positive feelings about 1st US were justified this week when I overheard Robert Lewis their Real Estate Business Development Officer speaking kindly to a befuddled older person who came in out of the wind and rain lost and looking for a building down the street. She spoke with an accent and she took his time clarifying which direction she ought to go to reach her appointment on time. He asked if she wanted him to take her in his car and she, delighted, agreed. He told the clerk helping me that he would be back soon, but please take his calls while he was gone. I was touched that not only was this officer so compassionate and willing to take time out of his day to be an unexpected Good Samaritan but also that the Credit Union he worked for was the kind of place that would allow their employees to be such good neighbors. He was back by the time I was leaving. Later, when questioned about it he said to me, "I hope someone would be that kind to my mother if she needed help!" That's the kind of place I'm pleased to do my banking. 1-24-12

Project Outdoor Life - POL1Horribly long wait times to call in and get help with card replacement, questions, etc. Fraud protection process is redundant and inefficient causing more work for the customer. Procedures are outdated like no address change unless you go in to a branch. Planning to leave out of frustration.
Response from the ownerWe’re sorry to hear about your experience with our phone wait times and fraud protection efforts. We take both items very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve both for the convenience of our members, and ultimately, the safety of member financial information. We will try to reach you privately to discuss how we can address your concerns.

Shlanda Johnson1I can never get the online banking to work. Maybe you need to get better software. I even went into the bank and an employee helped me and we both were having issues trying to get the online banking to work. It's really frustrating.
Response from the ownerI am so sorry that you didn't have a fantastic experience with our home banking platform. It is our intention to have useful tools to enable you to achieve your financial goals. I hope that you will give us a chance to resolve the issues that you are having.
