  We have banked with First South for years, my husband for over 20 and myself now for almost 9. They have always gone above and beyond when we have needed help. Whether it has been with our personal banking, auto loan and our refinance of our home. We had one negative experience through the years of a worker not returning our phone calls but we chose not to throw away a 20 year relationship and just went to someone else there at the bank. I give this bank as a whole a 5 out of 5. Don't let one rotten apple ruin the bunch.

  If I could give zero stars I would. Let me first say I have my car loan through this place, therefore I THOUGHT this would be a good place to have a house loan through. I cannot tell you the best place but I can definitely tell you the worst. I had been working with my loan officer for months and everything was perfect according to him. I personally took all of mine and my fiancé’s information to him and put it in his hands. He told us to be looking for a home. Our realtor found us a home and we wanted it. We gave all the information to the loan officer and he pre approved us. We put in an offer and it was accepted! Now here comes the bad parts. I had been having issues contacting my loan officer he would go days without replying to a text or answering my calls, but still when he would he would tell me everything was fine. My realtor needed the pre approval letter and I had to all but go up there and type it it up myself for him to send it to her. He eventually did. Our offer in the home was accepted so contracts began to be drawn up. My fiancé and I decided to keep looking and decided that house just wasn’t for us so we withdrew our offer. Even my realtor had asked me several times if I thought about switching loan companies because she was having a horrible time trying to get things from the loan officer and contacting him. I told her I wanted to stay with him due to my loan being there and we’ve been working with him so long. I chalked this up to him maybe having something against women because he would hardly ever talk to me or my realtor who was also a woman. But whatever I ignored it and just had my fiancé talk to him. Flash forward about a month we found a house we really really wanted and it was cheaper than the original home. We knew the people selling the house so we quickly came to an agreement on price and told our loan officer. He told us everything was great just let him know for sure price and he would get everything set up. I let him know no response of course so I had my fiancé call him. The loan officer told us everything was fine and even spine with my fiancé the week we were supposed to sign the contract and said everything was fine! Well come to find out he doesn’t even work there anymore and he had been talking to us like everything was perfect! We speak to someone at the main office and she informs me that the previous loan officer never even put my fiancé information in the system what so ever! Whatever pre approve letter he sent to my realtor was not even real or wasn’t a pre approval letter to begin with. He also had no information about the house we wanted in the system such as address, sale price, etc. so now as of today 10-2-2020 we have had to lose the home we wanted because apparently they couldn’t do the loan. And all we got was an “I am sorry” so no I definitely do not and will not recommend this place to anyone! And hopefully there is something that can be done and charges that can be pressed on falsifying documents. My credit has been ran twice now and I’m still left with no home. I will be moving my auto loan ASAP
