  I have been a customer for over 2 yrs with First Northern Credit Union and all the ladies at the front desk are very professional at what they do Ana Ramirez Charlene Cease to name a few..you are always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello and with covid they made sure everyone was safe. GREAT JOB LADIES, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

  Great Credit Union, The Ladies that work in the Front are always friendly and helpful, The manager is Awesome, she's always willing to help and answer any question for you on the fly. I would recommend this Credit Union to everyone that wants great service and a Manager that is willing to listen to your banking needs.

  DO NOT GET A CAR LOAN. KATIE AND HER COWORKER THEY ARE SOO RUDE!!! I NOTICED MOST OF THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE FAKE ACCOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO ONLY MADE ONE GOOGLE REVIEW. I wouldnt trust you money there when there are so many other reliable banks to choose! I have had way to many issues since day one! The girls at the front are miserable! Now neither one of my cards work. The manager was rude they couldnt fix the issue gave me some number to call couldnt answer questions! People couldnt even have access to the atm before hours because of some sort of issue with the door they couldnt explain! Took two weeks to get a replacement card, Took chase one business day when someone took my purse! On Monday I am def transferring my three accounts back to chase!

  We wanted to go local but we found the customer service and management to be unacceptable. This review is in regards to a joint account we had attempted to create: My partner and I were in the middle of a move so we had two different addresses and had only recently settled at our new address, understandably First Northern wanted to verify our new address…and the customer service rep & the manager said they would get back to us, but never did. If a bank can’t care enough to verify a potential new customers’ address and follow up with us, then our faith in how they would treat us as actual customers is zero.

  The staff at this location is very helpful and generally great. However, the website and online banking services are HORRIBLE. I have had to reset my password over 50 times - most of which I had to come to the store in person to do. I still cannot access my account from either service. I have sent several emails and don't know where else to complain about this problem. Don't use this service unless you have the time to do ALL of your banking in person.

  I'm sorry, but my review is quite negative due to FNCUs basic incompetence, their lack of prompt correction of a significant error ( to my financial disadvantage), and slow follow up. A few months ago, FNCU rolled out a new online banking website and it is demonstrably less capable than their older one. Very simply, the front-page layout was poor, missing basic navigation aids. Things you could readily do became opaque. I sent inquiries to their help email line and was pushed off to their third party web developer, who uninvolvedly responded that, sorry, the new website just will not provide specific account info that the old one would. Turns out, that response wasn't correct ( I initiated follow up, not FNCU) and there was no follow up from FNCU. On two susequent phone chats with FNCU employees (where, when on "hold" I heard ads about their great new software), I tried to transmit my website concerns (I have significant experience with software coding involving user interfaces) , but it was clear that they did not care. They took no notes of specifics and there was no follow up. But the worst thing was that their banking software lost $9500 that I transferred to another acct, using their new banking software. Yep, they promptly subtracted that amount from my account, but transferred nothing to the other account. I called an FNCU rep about this 25 days after this failed transfer (and with no notification of any problem). On the phone, the rep said (paraphrasing) 'oh, I just talked to my colleague, and she just found this problem this morning." Seriously. And my phone call was just that very morning. This is basic incompetence and, as of this writing (some 3 days later), I have not been contacted by FNCU that they "found" my $9500, corrected their error, and actually transferred my money. just another company with poor customer service that makes your stress level go up.

  Initial setup took forever. We had to go keep feeding the meter. Website is atrocious (or at least it was when I was a customer). Oftentimes the login would go to a blank page and I would have to login again. Closed my account here about half a year ago. It's a shame because I prefer to use credit unions but this one was not good.

  Tellers Ana Ramirez and Emily Perez always have a good attitude when I go into the branch. I am able to go in and out because of how efficient they are!

  My preferred branch as a member of the shared credit union. Really wonderful people. Although the hours aren't ideal for those who work far away, it's a pleasant lunch break walk for those in Evanston.
