First Midwest Bank Reviews

Taylor Fuhri2First Midwest has now transitioned to Old National. They shut down all first Midwest apps and I have not been able to access any of my accounts for 4 days now. I logged into old national with the credentials THEY GAVE ME and now my account is locked. On the letter I received in the mail it says customer care is open til 6, I called and they closed at 5. I do not like having no access to my accounts or my money. They also wanted you to download all your transaction history. I don’t have a computer and I didn’t receive the notice in time to do it so now I have no record of anything from my bank. They also charged my savings account for “undelivered mail” even though I’ve had the same address since I opened this account and receive all the mail. This seems shady and I will be closing my account here.

Miss Jane Doe1Long lines and new system is HORRIBLE - tellers not trained and learning on the job. I won’t be back to this location…only one teller open. Time to move on.

Janet Contant1This is usual to see a long line and only two open slots for this branch. Sometimes only one open. Maybe they need to hire more tellers for peak times, like morning and late afternoon shifts. Terribly slow!

Bre V1I once waited 40 minutes to get my check cashed. The ladies just sit back there and talk too much. I could be the only car in the drive through and still wait. If my employer didn’t use this bank I wouldn’t! I’ve been to other locations and somehow they manage faster . It’s this locations issue!

Jesse Ling1What an awful place this has become. Rude confrontational staff. Tried to get assistance and none of them would even walk 5 feet over to speak to me. Tellers refused to even acknowledge you unless you were directly in front of them. I sincerely hope this establishment goes the only place it now belongs, down the sewage drain.

Ashley Browner1The service here sucks. The employees talk way too much and move with no sense of urgency. I just moved to hickory hills and I hate this is the nearest bank. Every visit is the same. Today, had ONE person doing service in the cubicles. While, the other workers had food and drinks in another. Mind you the line is getting longer and longer. If this bank wasn’t on such a busy street no one would go. Everyone in the line complained.

Joseph Levigne1This bank has the worse service, it was great when it was Standard Bank but sure has gone down hill. Waited 30 minutes on the phone just to talk to a human, then was transferred to the wrong department and told I would have to call back and start all over again !!!

Ben Bart2This review pertains only to their on line banking. Almost every time I try to sign in there seems to be an issue. It's for a business account so maybe that's an area they haven't conquered. They have 3 levels of inputs--Company I.D., User I.D., and Password. One of these is sure to be an issue requiring a call for help. Sometimes it takes as long as an hour to get it resolved. Occasionally, I can breeze right through, but that's not often. Because of all these problems, I opened a Chase Account about a year ago and should have closed this account at that time. But being frugal I wanted to use up the old checks I had. But after today's hour session trying to get online, I decided to throw the old checks away and close the account. Dealing with Chase has been like day and night. Their systems work flawlessly, so far at least. I was a little nostalgic about closing the account because we had been with their predecessor bank, Standard Bank for many years. Standard was a gem like Chase, but since they were taken over by Midwest Bank things have changed for the worse.

Joel Brown5I love this bank! I have found them to be responsive to our business needs and they have been very accommodating of special requests. The team at Standard Bank has become an integral part of our business and we would be lost without them. Thank you Standard Bank and Trust!
