Ben Carson1"Considering to close my account" I wanted to give a try after BoA sold the branch to First Community Bank. But I never liked the service. First, the mobile app experience is not good and does not have much functionality. Second, they even charged me $5 when I transferred a small amount to my friend's account in the same bank. And when I contacted them about it, they said its because I did it myself. According to them, to avoid the fee I should have called them which doesnot make sense coz doing it myself, I actually took some burden off them. I am a student and $5 matters for me.

Tineoda Saygin1Needed to get in touch with them today regarding a problem with my account that they seemed to cause. From their website: "Our Client Care Specialists are currently unable to receive incoming telephone calls. If you need to contact our Client Care Center, please leave a message and someone will promptly return your call." Great customer service. Not.

J Smith1Horrible, horrible, horrible. My wife and I were part of the group of former Bank of America customers whose accounts rolled over to First Community Bank when they purchased our BoA branch. We decided to give FCB an honest try, and we made it 4 months before we finally couldn't take it any more and closed all our accounts with them. In my review here, I will try to give an honest and fair description of our experience with FCB. First, the good. The rollover from BoA to FCB was fairly seamless. We experienced no interruption in our banking, and all our direct deposits transitioned over without incident. FCB prepared us well in advance for the transition, and provided a lot of documentation to indicate exactly what we could expect during the rollover. They made a good "first impression." Next, the bad. 1) My main complaint is that it is inconvenient, and in certain instances IMPOSSIBLE to get access to your money when you need it. For example, my wife and I share a joint checking and a savings account. If I need to purchase something and don't have the money in my checking account, then I need to transfer it over from savings to checking using their online banking system. Sure, no problem - EXCEPT, that if you do this after 6pm eastern standard time, the transfer will not be posted until the next business day. Their customer service line won't be able to help you either, since they also close at 6pm (see below for more on that). This could lead to some serious problems if you are, for example, TRAVELING, and need your money for food, shelter or gas. I guess you could always sleep in your car, or the homeless shelter. 2) You will pay a fee for using ATMs that are not in the FCB system, or in other words, 99.9999% of ATMs currently in existence. I travel quite a bit for my job, and FCB may have ATMs outside of the immediate physical vicinity of southwest Virginia, but I have never seen one. For that matter, I have never seen a FCB ATM in southwest VA either, with the exception of the one at the branch. So, be prepared to pay between 3 and 5 dollars every time you use an ATM, because chances are its not part of FCB's system. I see this as a very real and very hidden cost of doing business with them. 3) Their customer service 1-800 number is only open through 6pm. So, if you experience any problems or interruptions in access to your accounts after that time, then you are out of luck. Finally, the ugly. 1) I mentioned earlier that I travel quite a bit for my job, and need to use my debit card for routine expenses (food, hotel). FCB must have thought that using in this way was "suspicious activity", because they SUSPENDED access to my account with no phone call, no email - nothing! This led to an extremely embarrassing moment for me, when I was purchasing a business dinner for some clients. My card was declined, despite having more than enough cash in the account to cover the cost. This was entirely unacceptable, and couldn't be sorted out until the next day because of their limited customer service hours. 2) Also while traveling, I was almost stranded with no place to stay because of FCB's stone-age customer service and online banking systems. I arrived at a hotel which I booked months in advance. I was required to swipe a card for incidental charges, and did not have enough in my checking to cover the 'hold' on the account. I tried to transfer money from savings, but OOPS, it was after 6pm EST, so I couldn't get my money. The hotel clerk took pity on me and let me sleep there anyway, but he could have turned me away and I would have had to sleep in a bus station or something. In summary, I would give this bank zero stars if it were possible. I have never had such a poor experience with any local business, let alone a bank. If having your money available to you when you need it is important, I strongly recommend you do business elsewhere.

Candice Keller1I'm assuming BOA was desperate... therefore selling all their loyal customers to this joke of a place! Pulling my account ASAP! I've given it A year and there isn't a single good thing to say! Tellers are nice enough if you like generic greetings and front manager is condescending and banker I dealt with was rude!

Jessica Hiner1Worst bank I've ever encountered!! They can't be bothered to fix simple requests, or even return a call. Don't bother with their "800 number". The only resolution they offer is to tell you they aren't an actual branch, and can't help you!

Rui Serra1Terrible customer service... Takes a billion steps and a billion calls to get anything done. They lock your access for anything (like, you access from a different computer)! Then calls do not come through, codes expire, accesses expire because you were waiting for a call that never came through and they make you go from call attendant in call attendant and you never get anything done. Simply terrible!
