  Had a great experience working with Tai Wesley. He was friendly and very professional. I tried getting a refinance with another lenders and was getting the run around and being denied. I have an excellent credit score with 0 lates so I was confused as to why it was so hard to get the refinance. I even have plenty of equity in our home. When I was referred to First Colony and discussed my unique situation, I am an independent contractor in the motion picture industry, Tai assured me that he could help. From that point on Tai kept me fully informed on how the process was going and got our loan approved with a great interest rate. The whole process only took about 3 weeks.   Very impressed with First Colony Mortgage. Even with all of the bottlenecks during the loan process, Tanessa worked non stop to make sure the end result was exactly what we wanted!   Took way too long to process. Took over 2 months. Had rate lock that was "free" but at signing I had to pay an extra fee to extend it 1 more day because it expired after 30 days and we closed 31 days after rate lock was initiated. They didn't like that my credit score dropped at the end but the only reason was because they kept pulling my credit whereas absolutely nothing else changed on it. Credit score is always going to drop a little after 4 or 5 inquiries for a mortgage in 2 months. Then after all of that the interest rate dropped a week later. Poor communication: hard to get ahold of on phone, slow to return emails. Had the wrong address of the property being mortgaged on the loan document. Loan did go through and got the house bought and for that reason only they get any stars at all.

  Fast closing and funding with a minimum of interaction with seller and buyers. Transactions done digitallly and a physical separation of 800 miles! Awesome. I would recommend their services.
