  Melissa was very helpful during the mortgage process! This was my first mortgage and I couldn't have picked a better mortgage lender. They walked me through and helped me understand everything.   I just recently applied for a loan through First American Mortgage and they gave me a good rate for the loan, but the house that I was purchasing did not pass inspection due to the roof so I got out of the loan and now the lender is saying I withdrew and I cannot get a denial letter so I can get my earnest money back. It was not my fault I could not continue and but they are saying it is. So now I am out even more money due to them not wanting to help me get out of a contract they will not loan on.

  Gave me a good rate, but extremely antiquated in their business practices. No e-sign, very little documents via email. Mostly wanting faxes and snail mail. Avoid if your under 70 years old.
