Financial Center First Credit Union Reviews

Betsy Liner1Accidentally grabbed the wrong card while paying for my lunch. Instead of declining the transaction for insufficient funds they processed it and charged me a $35 "courtesy pay fee". So my fast food lunch ended up costing $45. Just wanted others to be aware that this is how they operate.
Response from the ownerHello Betsy, thank you for taking time to leave us a review regarding your experience. We would love to speak with you so that we can better support you with this. Please send your contact information to [email protected] so that we can reach out.

Sam Jones1Black and Brown people stay away from this institution. Predatory lending.. This institution tried to tell me I made a mortgage payment (to them) by phone for December 2020 that was returned to me, because either the account or routing number was incorrect. This was incorrect because I wrote a hard copy check, the best documentation. After having no success in resolving this issue over the phone with two different agents, I visited the bank in person with my documentation of all payments made on time, which was good because they could not track down the funds on their end. Note, they reported a late fee of $18 to the credit bureau. Not the supposed "missed payment," but the late fee.. Finally got the matter resolved after an hour. Refinancing my mortgage with a Black owned bank (US Bank).

Adriana Lee1I would like to Express how very disappointed I am with whomever this white heavyset manager guy is. We have been with the union for quite a while now, and my black husband whenever this manager is on the clock gets the worst treatment ever. It has not been once, or twice. Is every single time he goes in and this manager is on duty. If it's not horrible one on one service, is looks. And I am just fed up with it. At the beginning I thought maybe he is exaggerating, or looking at it wrong. But, it's kind of ridiculous that it is every single time. We were told once that my husband is not the only black person he has been rude to, by same bankers. So I know we are not making stuff up. We are, currently in the middle of looking for a better bank or credit union. But I just wanted for people to know there is a problem with that and the only reason my husband maintains himself from saying or doing anything about it, is me. My husband is a very hard working person, and deserves respect. And being rude to members of any race is not good customer service, or professional for that matter.

A. Johnson2This is the absolute worst location to go to if your in a rush but need to take care of business. It seems like they are ALWAY working with bare minimum staff. Doesn’t matter if you go in the lobby or through the drive through you are guaranteed at least a 15 mins wait before being serviced. Which is disappointing because the location on 56th Street doesn’t operate as such so there’s a expectation of the same type of service when coming to this location but it just doesn’t happen. Definitely don’t do a lunch break run to this location I learned the hard way a quick trip to this bank will result in you not eating lunch at all!

Martha Baker1I am charged a $2.00 convenience fee to pay online. That is ridiculous. Customer service rep via a phone conversation was unhelpful and borderline rude.
