Justin1Went here to open an account and take advantage of their offer. The bank was empty at 2:30 on a Wednesday. Came in and was asked if I had an appointment. I said no and was asked to make one online. The bank was EMPTY. What terrible customer service. Your $550 offer got me to consider you but your service changed my mind pretty quick! Went to TD BANK and opened my account in 20 minutes and took advantage of their offer instead! 5/3rd SUCKS! Never again!

laby b1They have no service at all. Take your money & charge you to make withdrawals. Limit of $2000 & charge $3 for each payment. Pay no interest, and show no interest in our business. They pretend to be interested in resolution, but their phones put you through series of circular prompts & then hold times over an hour. Worse than can be Imagined.
Response from the ownerHey there, Thank you for making us aware of this situation. We'd like to see what we can do to help you. Please call us at (877) 833-9973 so we can discuss.

P Kirse1I show up at 4.45p to open 2 new accounts for a family member. the teller, Diane, informs me that they close at 5p and that I will need to come back another day as there is not enough time to open the accounts. I asked if she was serious and she stated, absolutely. Really! I'm here to give you money! very unprofessional and not anyone I want near my $$, not to mention the total lack of customer service. Not only will I be closing my accounts, but will also close my commercial accounts and take my business and $$ where its appreciated. I DO NOT recommend this bank!
Response from the ownerWe are sorry you feel that your situation was mishandled. If you would like to discuss the situation further with us, please call our team at 877-833-9973. Thanks!

Subhajit Sinha1Update: Went another day just to see if tgey improved and simply got denied account opening saying they have only 1 manager and she is busy. Wow, never happened in any other bank. Would have given 0 star if possible. Horrible customer service, went on a Saturday to open an account and the bank representative said systems are down can’t open account today. That’s it nothing else, i went there driving for 30 minuets and she didn’t even apologize once for the situation. It’s like this is normal and we can’t do anything and I don’t care attitude. Never seen such attitude in any bank before. There were other persons waiting there to withdraw money and can’t and she was just cross questioning and arguing with them that this happens in all other banks and all instead of politely handling the situation and calling the manager. It was RUDE!!!! Worst customer service, not going back to open an account for sure...
Response from the ownerHi Subhajit - while it is true that our server was down on Saturday, we're very sorry to hear this bank representative was rude in addressing your concerns! We'd like the opportunity to make it up to you. Would you mind giving us a call at 877-833-9973?

Kelley McCabe1When I logged into my 5th 3rd account, their website trumpeted in large font: “If you’re affected by Hurricane Dorian, Fifth Third is here to help.” I had to evacuate my home and my city due to Hurricane Dorian. During the time I was gone (Sept 3rd and 4th), 5th 3rd was scheduled to make a monthly transfer from my local bank to my 5th 3rd account. This monthly transfer was scheduled for September 4th. I called 5th 3rd on September 3rd and asked to have my monthly transfer canceled for this month because my local bank was closed due to Hurricane Dorian and I had no way to get money into my local bank in time for the next day’s transfer. I explained to the 5th 3rd representative the transfer was more money than I had in my account and I did not want to be overdrawn. The gentleman at 5th 3rd said he could cancel the transaction, but it was going to cost $30 to stop the transfer. Since all of this was happening as a direct result of Hurricane Dorian, I asked if he would consider not charging the $30 fee. He agreed. The next day, I checked my local bank account and I was overdrawn. Turned out 5th 3rd made the monthly transfer anyway. When I called 5th 3rd to ask if something could be done, I spent 12 minutes on hold. Then I was disconnected. I called back. The 5th 3rd representative answered the phone saying, "How can I make your day a 5th 3rd better today?" What a joke!!! A better way to answer the phone would have been, "How can I make you wait on hold, promise you service because you've been impacted by Hurricane Dorian, and then do absolutely none of what I promise today?" I explained the situation. The 5th 3rd rep kept me on hold another 7 minutes while she consulted a "specialist". Since I was now overdrawn in my local bank account, and because 5th 3rd had promised to cancel the transaction that had caused my account to be overdrawn, I had asked if 5th 3rd would reimburse me the $35 I was going to be charged by my local bank (I said nothing about the 47 minutes, total, I had spent on the phone with them) . Finally, the 5th 3rd representative came back and simply said, "No can do." What? Is this the Beverly Hillbilly's or 5th 3rd Bank? How about something professional like, "I'm really sorry for the inconvenience we've caused you Ms. McCabe, but unfortunately, there isn't a way for us to reimburse you for the $35 charge we caused by overdrawing your account (after we promised we would not do that)." Just another bank pretending they care about the customer, but in reality, not giving a rat's posterior. Does anyone do the right thing anymore – even when it might have a negative impact on their “bottom line”?

Charlena Berry1I went there today for a wire transfer for. I've gone in there a 1/2 dozen times before for a wire transfer and the teller was able to do it. To day they were understaffed in the 2 managers were unable to see me to do my wire transfer. They asked me to make an appointment which is ridiculous. I'm switching banks soon. Beware beware beware

Noemi vasquez1Visited for the first time La Fontana branch today, we were waiting for quite some time and the manager with a red shirt was sitting in her office looking at her computer screen and didn’t even take the time to come out to greet us - it seems that nobody in that branch cares for the clients- there was client there that was furious about the quality of customer service- we just walked out of the bank- we hope upper management reads these reviews and do something about it, they are loosing current and future clients.
Response from the ownerHi Noemi - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We always strive to make our customers feel welcome and appreciated, and we're sorry we dropped the ball. We'd like the opportunity to make this right. Would you mind giving us a call at 877-833-9973? Your business is important to us!
