  For your own good, please stay away from this mortgage company. They will lure you in with sweet talks and empty promises that they will never deliver. As a first time homebuyer, I got to connect with Monika through my realtor because she thought she would be able to close my type of loan which is a little difficult. Communication was terrible. Text, email, call, she wouldn’t even bother replying. I didn’t even get loan estimate until 5 days before closing (they had 45 days), and until 2 days before closing, they said “property tax was done wrong” so I would need a co-signer. What?? Who even does property tax wrong? Just like a previous review says, they will say one excuse after another and waste your time like that. There are other loaners out there who are effective and efficient, Empire is absolutely not one. Now the house has other offers and we will most likely lose our deposit. Worst experience of my life!

  i AM a listing agent and the buyer used Empire Home Loans. The preapproval letter was issued on 4/6. It is now 7/24 almost 4 MONTHS and the loan still has not closed. Yes, it is a 203K loan BUT it has been one excuse after another. Empire has now officially asked for 4 extensions of the closing date which leads me to believe the loan officer is not on top of the file. Empire is asking for new updated paperwork, another underwriting review and I believe the appraiser has to return to the property again! We have been promised a clear to close for one month, no luck! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

  I recently bought my first home in Guilford, CT. and had no idea where to begin when it came to getting approved for a loan. Empire literally took care of EVERYTHING. Monika, Tyler and the entire staff sent me over everything I needed to sign and kept everything so organized that we closed in less than a month. I highly recommend their services and won't use anyone else around for future home purchases or re-fis. Thanks Empire team!

  8 years ago during the housing crisis and when banks were barely lending any money, Monika helped us get approved for a mortgage for our dream home within 45 days. Recently, she also helped a good friend also get approved for a mortgage. I highly recommend this company!

  Lender had 2 months time to perform. Waited until the absolute last minute to provide mortgage commitment. Non-responsive. If you want to waste a lot of time and money all just for your real estate transaction to fall through in the 11th hour this is the lender to choose!

  9 years ago when no one was able to get us a loan, Monika not only got us the loan but was able to close in 30 days. I also recommend a few friends and they also were able to work wonders for them. I highly recommend their services, five stars!!!
