  I've been a member of this credit union for over 5 years in the beginning they were okay and pleasant to deal with. Until I applied for an auto loan and denied as they ran my credit 3 times they same day now my credit score is held back for the next two years and the many times I've called them they've refused to fix it. So I applied for an auto loan from a different credit union maine savings and was approved almost immediately the same day. Very unfortunate for them I'm closing my account with them. Some of the tellers should have been put through customer service training as the rudeness level exce

  It's 2022 their direct deposit shouldn't take so long to post

  I called in to get an auto loan through Downeast FCU and was helped by Paula. I felt that I honestly was not taken care of to the extent that I should have been. I gave her my information the first day and didn't receive a call before they closed keeping me in the loop to what was happening. I followed up the next day and was told the system had been down and they didn't get to put me through....things happen so I understood. after that it was a day of trying to talk to Paula on the phone, only receiving emails, and when I finally got her on the phone she said they were really busy. I sent her a buyers order and waited more. at the end of the day (10 minutes before they closed), I received an email instead of a phone call giving my my rate, to which i had questions, so i sent an email back and then called, which i was sent to voicemail and got no answers until the next day. I asked her to call me and nothing, so I reached out to another person at the bank and once i did that, she called me back. I wasn't able to take the call and so I called her when I was able to, to which I got no call back. I decided to go with Maine Savings, got an answer within 30 minutes, and an awesome rate. I feel that the communication was off, and I wasn't treated well as a customer. the only reason I give this two stars is because after multiple calls and emails to send me the rate and information she gave me, she was able to come through and do that so i could bring it to the other bank. If you decide to go with Downeast, ask for a different individual to help you, as they still are an awesome bank and from what I have heard do take care of their customers.

  Web site says open till noon. Not open after driving in at 9:30.

  This is one of the worst banks that are out there.
