CountryPlace Mortgage Reviews

C F1I was going to wait to leave a review on Google, Yelp, BBB but I decided I'm tired of waiting and maybe it being posted they'd move faster. So here it is. This process started the end of Feb 2021, Lonn Anderson started off very friendly and responsive on getting me my Preapproval for my home, He answered all my questions and concerns. Fast forward about 3 weeks, we figured out the home we wanted and all the "fun" can start. We found out Lonn, doesn't like to reply to emails, calls or texts. You have to send the same email 3-4 times before he responds with a generic response, he sent me a response on lumber prices going up 3 times even though the builder stated I am not effected by it, which he knew. Then the appraisal company they used took 4 weeks, typically its about 2 weeks. When we got the appraisal it was "broken" they had to reorder and it would take 30 days, I shut that down and complained enough and got it in roughly 2 days. I had to beg and plead for WEEKS, literal weeks to get my Closing Disclosure, emails sent every day, multiple times a day with no one replyin back. I was told by Lonn and his boss Dan, they are busy closing other loans? Why can't you close mine, I've asked 20+ times with no good response yet besides everyone is buying a house? Lastly, My Final CD was signed 9 days ago and no one can tell me when my closing date is. Hopefully someone at CountryPlace see's this and will get their "back office" as they keep saying in emails, to actually send my stuff to the title company so I can close and move on.

Dan Man1I have had nothing but a bad experience with this company. Horrible! Communication is certainly not a strong side to this company. I have actually wondered during this process if they’re even legit or not. I have waited long enough to get the service I need to help close on a home and now I haven’t heard from anyone in over a week. I don’t get called back and most of the time when I do call the voice mail box is full. I know people get busy, but we were supposed to close on our home nearly a month ago and now we have no such progress whatsoever along with no explanation of why. I would never try and hurt anyone’s job, so I won’t name the people I was working with as I understand life is difficult and sometimes too much is thrown on one person, but the previous bad reviews tell the truth. I am completely at a loss as to why people care so little about their job and how their carelessness effects other people. After having already paid for the appraisal and given them everything they need we are still nowhere on our loan. This has affected my family, the people we rent from and the sellers. Now I’m starting over again with a BETTER company that is much more responsive and professional. I hate that I have now wasted 4 months and have countless moving boxes everywhere. . Go somewhere else if you want professional service.

Dana Martina5Great team! Great service! We had a great experience with Country Place. Lonn A., Joy, and Ashley were all fantastic. They were very good at advising the best loan options as well as clearly sharing what the process would entail. Their closing agents from Talon Title were equally as efficient and the lines of communication were always open even down to the last detail. Lonn, thank you so much for your patience with our unique situation. We would certainly recommend you and the team in the future.
Response from the ownerHey Dana it has been a pleasure working with you and Barry. I really appreciate your pro-activeness during the whole loan process and it made my job much easier. Please call me if you have and questions or needs during the construction process. Our construction team is excellent to work with and hope everything goes well. Thank you so much! Henry Raines5Daniel Kowal promptly returned my call after I inquired about a home loan. I was looking for a loan on a modular home in a land co-op. Even though he didn't have a product he still suggested three other lenders that could help me. Service above the norm that helped me with my question! I am glad I made the call.

Wanda Nichols5My favorable thoughts could go on and on about CountryPlace Mortgage and Scott LeClaire. Our first endeavor, not at the fault of CountryPlace, was a disaster, as the dealership after 10 mos decided at closing to cancel negotiations. Mr. LeClaire stated, that if in the future we decided to pursue another dealership he would be there for us. True to his word, when I called him and stated we would like to try to get our dream home again -- well he immediately went to work for us. He rolled up his sleeves, went to work with the new dealership, who was willing to work with CountryPlace in return, and got our appraisal right away, locked our interest rate in from the original dealership as the percentage had started to increase, and within just a few months we have now closed and anxiously awaiting our home to be delivered. We couldn't believe how fast everything just fit into place. We can honestly say, he is a man of integrity and has a great respect for his client(s). He talks the talk and certainly walks the walk. If you want a company and a person to work extra hard for you- then CountryPlace and Scott LeClaire is your answer. You will not be sorry for choosing CountryPlace and Scott LeClaire. I haven't had this kind of peace in almost 2 yrs. Thank you Scott for everything. You lived up to your word and never let us down. The Nichols Family

Leroy Willis5On behalf of my wife and myself we were very pleased with the staff and management of Country Place Mortgage. They went above and beyond our needs, we had an issue and a very short time frame. Lonn Anderson and staff pulled out a miracle, I believe they was shocked themselves. Thank you for everything. I would definitely recommend them. Leroy and Tammy Willis

Charles Smith1One Star because it won't let me select Zero. Please do not use these people. Mr. Anderson is a terrible person. He told me it would be about 45 days to close on my house, it took them 85 days. They are full of excuses for their piss poor efforts. Everything they did took at minimum twice the time it should have taken. Mr Anderson doesn't answer emails and when he does you can tell that he didn't actually read the email you sent, he skimmed it for key words and responded with a generic answer that got me nowhere. Once I had to email him 3 times in a row with the same question because he would not answer it. Probably because he had no idea what was actually going on with the loan because he didn't care. His response had nothing to do with the questions I asked. I had to extend my closing date 3 or 4 times because they couldn't get their paperwork together. I was constantly asking if there was anything I could do to speed things up and every time I was told "no" and it "would be done soon" and then I wouldn't hear from anyone for weeks. Mr Anderson told me directly over the phone "I didn't even want I take this loan but my manager made me". This was one of his excuses for things taking so long. "I'm busy" he would say. "I've got over 200 loans on my desk" was another of his excuses. HIRE SOME PEOPLE TO DO THE WORK!! I spoke with his manager and he was full of excuses also. Backing up Mr Anderson's poor performance. My Realtor was blown away by their behavior. He said he'd never seen such incompetence and just could not understand why they took so long to do EVERYTHING. My pre closing statement from Mr Anderson was off by more than $5000 at one point and wasn't corrected until about a week before we closed. Countryplace had to pay some of my closing because their numbers were incorrect. Awful, awful, indifferent, uncaring people. Unless this is your very last option, do not even call them. Please.
