Bryan Bailey1My family and I moved here from Tennessee after retiring from the military. Our credit union in TN was absolutely phenomenal. Here in Iowa, not so much. I had submitted a one time stop payment on something, they set it up as a 6 month recurring stop payment that I was unaware of until I got a letter in the mail from my auto loan lender saying that I was 2 payments behind. Well, I paid it and got it caught up, but now I have 2 30-day late payments on my credit! Brought me down almost 100 points and now I can't finance a paper sack! I actually tried trading that vehicle for one 10k cheaper and c1st denied me! Hahaha, the same bank that ruined my credit! What an absolute joke! I never had any problems with my CU in Tennessee. But don't worry, I will be telling EVERY person I know what they have done to me!

Mary Wilson5I have been a member with this Credit Union for many years. I love the Indianola location. All the employees are always so cheerful and happy to help when I come in. I love the loan rates and how quick the process is to get a loan!

Jeff Bruns5Love banking with Community 1st! Just competed refinancing my mortgage this morning. The process could not gone better. From start to finish, it was simple and straight forward. This is now the 3rd large (for me) financing solution I have chosen Community 1st for. Their rates are competitive and have proven to be far better than others I have compared to. More importantly, their staff and process matches their moniker - community first. I will continue to look their way for any future financial needs I may have.

Gator Acres1Most credit unions are for the members. This credit union has the WORST customer service. They charge fees for everything including taking money out of savings accounts. I transferred from a credit union in Des Moines to one in my town. Worst mistake!! I even transferred my business account and have had nothing but headaches. They continue to put holds on business checks for small amounts, chargers random fees and you call to talk with them and you get no where! I will be transferring! I have no idea how this credit union is still in business!

Ashley Zach Whitehill1Would not recommend banking here! They change their rules from one month to another. Their paid out laws for their business rules are everything at their discretion. Don't walk but RUN somewhere else for your banking! We have been with them for over a year and I have to call and bicker with them monthly! I'm so over it and ready for a new bank!

jeff alan2My first visit to learn of the credit union was impressed, wrote a review that attracted lot of reviews. My ready to switch from banking to credit union the agent was rather cold unlike the one I first felt with last year. I will now decide was the first good example of those that work at community 1st, today's agent left me cold. To call for a matter, only automated operator comes on the line, to leave a message is a waste of time. I have yet to get a call back. It is really nice place and the ATM machine is high tech and fun to use. It is the customer service that is lacking. Not sure where the first agent went,just no longer impressed. To get a vehicle loan the interest rate they add on wherever they can. not sure why the customer service is now lacking. Maybe a agent will come along and retire the first visit very impressed experience.

Jake1Never experienced such a rude person when applying for a loan. Spoke to Amber about a loan, and instead of getting any tips or anything she flat out denied me WITH a co-signer and treated me like garbage. The least she could have done was tell me something I can do and give me pointers and I would have been respectful but I got the exact opposite service so I lost my temper and cancelled my account. Never banking here again.

Devon Maurer1The staff at this branch of the community first credit union has acted unsatisfactory. Some would even say rude to people. As seen in the reviews. I would have considered banking with them had I not heard such negative things.

Larry Wells1We had a house and it caught fire. We didn’t have enough insurance to pay everything. Needless to say I lost my vehicles etc etc. since then, I bought a fixer upper for cash. Had already put in new floors, windows and such. The house is appraised around $70,000. Since my credit is bad, they wouldn’t even loan me $5,000 on my home title to fix up my kitchen. I personally thought credit union looked at circumstances too not just the credit score!
