  It was a good experience. Only waited a few minutes for service. The layout is a bit odd. You sign in and then sit as far away frim the bankers as possible. Awkward. The service was friendly and complete. A copy of all the documents was sent to me electronically which was nice. No papers to bring home. Good experience.

  If I could give negative stars I did. My mother past away Aug 1, 2021. This branch on MLK has been giving me the run around for over 2 months to withdraw money from her acct. I'm not a beneficiary on her acct but I'm her only child. The branch manager, Tonya Bradshaw, advised me on my second visit once any FERS pymt not due my mother were returned I can come back, fill out a form and close the acct bc the funds are within a certain amount. I verified w FERS one pymt had been returned and all other money was hers. I go there today and speak w Oshanda who says I have to wait until Tues of next week to talk to Ms. Bradshaw regarding the form bc the only way she herself knows how to close the acct is for me to go to court and file docs to be executive of my mom's estate, have her death certificate and my id. Maam, that's not what I was told. Why do I have to file papers when your manager said they have a form in house i can fill out?! Incompetence is all I can say and when you call a branch you're holding forever and the phone eventually disconnects. I worked at a bank and we had a form as well. Its less than $1300. And this branch has no compassion. No let me see how I can help you. Nothing but come back for more tail chasing! Ridiculous! I wld never have a banking relationship w this loser bank!

  This bank is operated like a bank in 1996. Payroll checks take 24 hours to clear. The debit cards are not compatible with apple or google pay. The branch and systems haven’t been updated in a decade. Banking with the company has been very frustrating.

  Dang it, I was so excited about banking here . And had planned to transfer all my accounts . I going to wait. The customer service is no where near what I’m use to, and it has nothing with them being black , owned/operated and more to do with their training . Please please do better, we are depending on the banks to assist black and brown people to build generational wealth and growth in our communities.

  Closing my account tomorrow. They do not deserve this one star. The system is down at least once or twice a month. The renovated their locations but didn't up the staff so we have new paint but the service still slow. They open at 9am (sad) and close at 4pm (sadder). I was just told in order to cash a check I have to have that amount in my account? Wait what? So if I have no money in the bank I cannot put money in there? I got this account to "Bank Black" but f that. I'm going to a big corporation that has their stuff together. It's no reason they are so far behind on technology when they are older than most banks and there is no reason to have those ridiculous business hours. If you work 9-5 you will never be able to go before or after work so you are screwed. And don't think about doing your banking on Saturday..they are closed...for their convenience not yours.

  ABSOLUTE FAILURE at communicating with their customers following a well-publicized "upgrade." No way to reach them by phone, no responses to any emails, either direct or by their web portal. Look around, FB for example. Their customer base is being ignored and treated with absolute indifference. UPDATE NOV 10 2021: This bank is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to reach by phone. Their voice greeting has been referring to “unusually high call volume” for YEARS. They have done nothing to improve. DO NOT BELIEVE “Your call is extremely important to us.” And I get NO RESPONSE at all to repeated written correspondence via their website. NONE, even though I am asking for urgent assistance with obvious fraud and unrecognized debits. This bank fails completely at communications with customers.

  After several calls about a company removing funds from my account (fraud) this bank lacklusterly hasn't sent a form for dispute and won't close the account. Aside from this horrifying practice, the tellers are ghetto and lack customer service skills. This bank can't help with basic services (change of address, ordering checks). They've forced my hand into closing my account (if they ever do that) or simply letting it sit empty. I've filed a complaint with the BBB and encourage everyone to do the same.

  I’ve had a few banks in my day and CTB is by far the worst bank ever. Worst customer service, dirty bank, holding a payroll check for 5 days because “the amount is too high” ridiculousssss

  I had a great experience with Tonya Bradshaw! My business account was opened in about 30 minutes and she was very professional. Look, we all know this is an older bank and it's in the "hood" so stop complaining about it and start doing something about it. Put your money in the bank and let's start doing business with our banking institutions! Citizens Trust became the first African American–owned bank to become a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. In 1948 Citizens Trust became the first African American–owned bank to join the Federal Reserve Bank. Yes, I have money in multiple banks and made a decision to play the long game because when you need a line of credit or loan, they will be there for you beyond the credit score. If you are a small business owner and an American Descendent of Slaves, definitely consider opening up an account with Citizens Trust Bank!

  Great customer service! I live in the community. I don't have to wait in a long line like other banks (BOA)...Lol. Everyone is friendly, even the security officers. I even have a safe deposit box at the downtown area bank! It would be great if they were open on Saturday, but that's something I can live with. And I'm also going to open up an business account, I have a better chance of getting a loan maybe!! Mr. J. Richardson
