Only positive experiences with Chicago Title. Use them with almost all my clients. They are easy to coordinate with and are very friendly.

I have been using Chicago Title to close my home sales for over 4 years now, and it is one of the best business moves I've made as a real estate agent. The team at CTT has not once let me down on a single file, they have been extremely responsive to each email and phone call I send/make, and they have even saved some files that I dropped the ball with. They treat my clients professionally, explain things in a calm and patient manner, and are ALWAYS pleasant to work with at the closing table. I would especially like to recognize Brandi Rothermel, as she is my designated closer and has always picked up the phone when I need something. I would also like to thank Bridgett Hamstra for her leadership at this location. Thank you for all that you do, CTT Rivertown! Here's to the next 100 closings!!!! Matt Kuiper RE/MAX Sunquest

Brandi was very patient, especially in speaking to my mother in law. And the office was taken great care to follow Covid-19 precautions, which made us more comfortable. I would definitely recommend them.

I do not recommend this title company at all. They are on the sellers side of a property purchase that we are trying to close on - on the day of closing they told us that the title wasn’t clear and that they had allowed it to close two previous times without a clear title. This shows a lack of ethics that is disturbing in a title company. Now that the appropriate paperwork has been turned in to them they are going at a snails pace in underwriting. We have now been delayed in our closing for two weeks with no end in sight. This has caused extra expenses and inconvenience that could have been avoided had they just practiced good business in the first place. Do not use this company if you have any choice in the matter.

Very cool place to visit! I dropped one of my kids off there for something but before I left a very kind volunteer named Jack showed me the telescopes I was able to see the craters on the moon and also saw Saturn! I would love to go back here again for a tour when they open again.

Great service, friendly staff, costs seem similar or less than most other title companies. However, some mortgage companies can charge a lot more. Buyers, be sure to review your mortgage quote before you commit to your new mortgage application! You can save $$$ with the right mortgage company.

Avoid this title company. You would think a title manager would know the law regarding how you can legally hold title. My husband and I held title as tenants by entirety, which you need to be legally married to do so. We postponed closing on the house we were buying by just a few days until we were married. Both the mortgage company and Chicago Title were informed that we would be married upon closing, hence the reason for the postponement from the original close date. The mortgage company said the title company would handle all aspects of assuring title and deed correctly reflected our marital status at time of close since they are the preparers of those documents and I was told to bring copies of my marriage license in case they needed them. I did. I asked the title manager at close if she needed to see the marriage license and she shook her head and said no. I checked the documents at close to ensure we were correctly holding title but amongst the countless documents you review and sign at closing, I missed that the deed stated we were unmarried. When I was later reviewing the deed post close that I received back from the County I caught the error. When I brought this up to Chicago Title, after being told different things by different people I was finally put in touch with the title manager who just pointed fingers and blamed the mortgage company and stated they were simply following the mortgage companies paperwork. Please start acting a little more professional and not point fingers like a little kid. The loan officer and whomever else at the mortgage company are not title/deed experts. I talked to a title manager at Leading Edge Title back in east MI where I moved from and she stated any title manager properly doing their job should have paid attention to detail while preparing title and deed and should have caught that and questioned it, not just blindly typed up the paper work. You can't prepare a title doc stating we are holding title as tenants by entirely and then prepare a deed stating we are unmarried. She went on to explain that too often these days she's pretty disgusted by how poorly she sees title agents doing their job. Advice: Do your homework next time you buy or sell a house and make sure the title agent is competent. And everyone else involved. You can't rely on anyone for any quality these days. Even Google knows you have to be married to hold title the way we requested. From the title manager's email: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra!" Extra what? Laziness or incompetence?
