      NEVER have I ever seen a bank so sketchy and shady in my entire life. They most definitely lost me before I could even become a customer. (Thankfully) So, Anyways I had been looking for a new bank for quite some time and decided Chelsea State Bank was going to be the appropriate bank for me. Now, I proceeded to attempt to make a bank account and once I was going to complete everything to make it final and have them as my bank I was going to deposit a check into my account and I was going to cash a relatively SMALL paycheck from my place of employment. This was going to be a super simple process considering my place of employment actually uses that bank as their bank. So, it would’ve been a relatively smooth transaction. Thankfully before I signed any documents or gave them anymore my personal information, I was informed that they would hold onto MY MONEY for SEVERAL WEEKS! They REFUSE to let you touch ANY of YOUR MONEY because they “Don’t know you!” What in the hell kind of bank is his? I was going to deposit a fairly large check that was well OVER $400.00 and leave that in my account, I was only going to cash a very small paycheck of mine so I could get my much NEEDED LIFE SAVING medication I need from CVS right there in town. I was expressing to them on how badly I needed that paycheck of mine cashed so I could get my INSULIN! Which, for anyone that doesn’t know that, It’s literally how I stay alive!!! They literally did NOT care a single bit! DO NOT USE THIS BANK! DO NOT DO IT! GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THIS BANK! Trust me. They do not care about you.

      The manager needs some remedial customer service training. Sat in the drive thru for a total of 25 minutes before I was serviced. When I got up to the teller window lane, the teller was working alone and dealing with a difficult transaction. Seeing that I was next to be serviced and had been waiting for sometime, she came to the window and said she would help me in moment and I thanked her. After waiting for over 10 minutes now at the window, a man pulled up in the lane next to me and inserted his transaction in the tube. The manager came and assisted the teller having difficulty, grabbed the tube and began processing the man's transaction. She never bothered to open the drawer so I could give her mine. I beeped by horn and said that I was next. She came over and said, I'll help you in a minuted. Mine you I had already been there long before the man she was servicing.When I told the manager they needed better communication so they know who is next, she was rude and curt and came up with every excuse in the book. No apology, no acknowledgement and on top of it all I was late.

      I have been a customer for a few years. The normal banking interface has been good. My recent experience to add my new wife to my account and investigate a boat loan remotely was terrible. Down right difficult. Because we needed to move quickly on the boat loan we went to another bank. The woman we worked with was extremely efficient. Opened an account and processed the loan quickly. I still wanted to get the joint account with CSB but after a few days of frustration I threw in the towel.

      Our family has been banking here for more than 50 years. There is never a line inside or at the drive through. I always receive prompt courteous service and they have very reasonable fees on accounts! The advantage to using a local bank like this is their banking security is superb!
