  Went in to cash a check, and Maria (no name tag on, I had to ask for her name, older islander woman) refused to cash it because I had signed the back? Very rude. Acted very inconvenienced she was going to have to help me. Her and a younger woman came out from the back as I came in, who knows what they were doing back there. Money Tree down the street cashed it no problem.

  I have been coming to this Checkmate for years and I have never had a problem. Stop blaming the employees for your failures!

  The experience would have been fine if I had never had to go to the second employee. LIZ is her name. The first girl was very friendly but I could tell that Liz was going to make sure I wasn't approved. She muttered insults under her breath and gave me some serious attitude. Completely unprofessional.

  I literally just left this location from dealing with one of the rudest most disrespectful individuals I’ve ever dealt with a customer service in my life I was hesitant on going because of the one star that they have and now I see why. I was on the phone with my John trying to get the number to the verification for the check and she heard me make a statement and decided to come in on it in a rude very disrespectful way. She instantly told me that I can take it somewhere else for no reason at all other than her listening to my phone conversation. I told her that what she didWas uncalled for and that she just did her job this would’ve even happened. I would advise you to find someone else to run this location because she is the reason why it only has one star and why no one goes there that young lady almost calls for bodily harm to be done to her and there are people sleeping right outside her location also there’s a child out there as well please don’t make me call authorities because of this woman and because their children sleeping outside the location ad form anybody to stay away from this location

  Great place to get loans, cash checks send money. The lady's there are awesome friendly greets you with a smile and when super busy they ask if you would please hold. My experience with this place has always been very nice. Keep up the good work

  At first I was a little upset that I needed to open a bank account (because my netspend card didn't have enough transaction history) but in the end...... I got the loan I needed, my Daughter got her Wedding Dress, and I now have the checking account I should have already had! I was even eligible to use my pay apps as income verification with a simple screenshot and email to Ckeckmate! Checkmate did what nobody else would, they made a complicated and stressful situation - an Easy Success!!!

  When traditional banking sercices arent available Checkmate offers a convienient although pricey alternative. I cashed in a Money Order in a jam for several hundred dollars that I had purchased the day before but decided not to use. The fee was 5.9% + $1.00 per item. You can plan on throwing away about $30 to cash in a $500 money order, even when its a Western Union brand money order, the very brand of money order they sell! But as I quickly learned, there are an abundance of retailers selling W.U. money orders, on just about every street corner, but over 90% of those retailers who sell Western Union or Moneygram money orders, will not cash them, in any amount!!! It's really a bunch of 🐂💩. And its definitelyworth noting that with W.U., the basic information needed to verify the legitimacy of their money orders, takes 48 hrs to update in their system, rendering the money order essentially worthless for the first 48 hrs after purchasing it. No financial institution will cash it during that time as they can not verify it's authenticity. I find this ridiculous that in this day and age, a payment instrument that is created electrically and requires a direct live connection with Western Union's database to create it in the first place , is sonehow not immediately able to be verified by Western Union! If it was created within theit system, how is it possible to not be found in that same system? I know of no other retailer who has such a primitive lag in their ability to retrieve their own electeonic records! My advice for Western Union is that they join the rest of the electronic information age in the year 2020..💻💸

  It really sucks I went all the way down there to get a loan so I could get some money. I paid back all the loans I ever had and they approved me for 700 and then when I got down there they said I couldn't do it. I spent the last dollars I had to go down there all for nothing smh ridiculous they should have told me that over the phone when I called I wouldn't have wasted my time with them

  Do not go here. They do not follow propper standards and profiled me as a homeless person and refused to let me cash a check even after Google said the company I worked was active.
