Chase Bank Reviews

sherry Freels1I liked the Asian gentleman at west Salem, he was always nice and helpful but I heard he's working at another Chase bank on Hawthorne. West Salem bank now days seems so worried about policies and rules (I've been banking there for 13 years) that they've forgot their customer service.

Maureen McCoy2They don't answer their phone and I can't leave a message. It just says to call back and then I am disconnected. However, this happens each time I call, so I am not sure why they even give out their phone number. As far as I know, I need to make an appointment to get documents notarized and I can't make an appointment because no one answers the phone. I will now have to drive down to the bank only to be told that I need to make an appointment which I would if I can get hold of someone. Frustrated.

Adrian7kids Jonjon12er1I gotta say I hardly ever do this but my experience at this bank was exceptionally horrible. I went in to cash a ck for 3k check was written in my name. The worthless teller mentioned she had bother there costumer to make sure she wrote the check even though she verified the signature and funds. So she did and no answer so I left and came back. Finally she got a hold of the custumer and everything seemed to be fine even though I went to another chase on market street in Salem and teller said per policy there not aloud to call the costumer. Anyhow I went to my wife's bank and she signed it to deposit but there was going to be a 3 day hold. As I needed it cashed to pay bills since it was in my name I went back again to the chase bank in west Salem Oregon and the manager Asian guy said I'm sorry we can't take a third party check (unbelievable) so I went to a chase and handed check to teller and with no hesitation he cashed the check no problem. Didn't have to completely bother the Acct holder was very very nice. I'm just blown away how unprofessional chase bank in west Salem is the whole entire staff was rude and less than mediocre costumer service. I feel bad for people who do business with them and take my experience as a warning to stay clear of this branch. There are 4 banks within in walking distance to choose from. Next step calling the corporate office

Ace H1They will straight lie to your face. They really screwed me over. I should know not to do any business with them, as soon as you walk through the door you can feel tension and a not so welcome feeling. I hope you find somewhere to bank. Edit: I have had continuous problems with this bank, even the private client "specialist" does not know how to do their job. I was told two different things in less than 5 minutes while being there . Very aggressive and want to push you through the door .

Rich Park1This is the most incompetent branch I have ever dealt with. I had to go in to let them know that I never received a check that Chase issued to the wrong address and was told I needed to fill out some paperwork and they had to fax it over...6 weeks later I return to the branch and was told nobody can help me and need to make an appointment. They were kind enough to give me a generic 800 number so I can follow up on my own. Upon following up, the representative on the phone told me they never received the fax from the branch. That is unprofessional and not the way a major banking institution like Chase should be handling business.

Richard Sherman5Half of the bad reviews are people who have no idea what they are talking about...things like "you can not deposit cash into an account that is not yours" is a LAW...It is FINCEN regulation to stop money laundering...so go buy a money order and stop complaining ...Seriously people...the bank is not doing this to be a jerk, they are following the law. While I am at it, how about THIS point...if you are there trying to deposit money into an account and they won't let you do it, then you are ALSO not a Chase client. or they would put into your account then transfer it..so how do you get off leaving a negative review when your not even a client!. Ok, not back to the bank I have never had issues here, I have over 10 different accounts with them and I have complex transactions. They are fast, friendly and have fixed many issues that other branches have caused. Adam and Desireé specifically are AWESOME!

Kristin Tomlin1Many days "no banker on duty" to do the most routine banking tasks. They suggested I call an automated line. Also, went in to sign my name on a new account: they said I wasn't on said account. Called father in Portland, made him go into the local bank only to find out I WAS ON THE ACCOUNT. The manager called me to verify. Now, I have to go BACK IN to make an appointment to sign for the account. 5 steps for what should have been ONE.

Alvin Klausen13 banks in a row, Chase, a national company was the only one that shut down early. Don't bank here if you work a 9am - 5pm.

ROYAL VW BOSS1Hello there. It's been a while since I have done a review but I've got to share this one. When you go to a bank, it's typically to do afew things. Such as set up an account, get a loan and so forth. I have a uto loan through Chase Bank so I thought maybe it would be a good idea to maybe set up a simple checking account with them to make my life a little easier. It's already complicated enough just dealing with the auto portion of Chase. Last weekend I entered this Chase with the intention of paying my car note and setting up a checking account with them. I walk up to the teller that was available and told her my intentions of my trip to the bank that day. She replied to me like she was shocked that I would ask my request. She proceeded to inform me that there are not enough tellers that day to fill my request and that it would take to long to set up an account due to the fact that they close in a half hour. Mind you it was Saturday and the was but one other customer in this branch. I replied telling her that it is okay and that I would come back next weekend to set up an account. Typically, businesses would love to help you in your transaction, but I don't feel that this Chase cares. I called them today, 3 hours before they close, and am denied the ability to set up a checking account once more due to "to many call outs". That's what the banker told me after I called twice and was answered the second time. At this time, I do not recommend this branch to anyone. You are better off taking your business to another location. They do not seem to have reliable staff nor staff that want to go above the expectations to help a potential customer. I am very unhappy with this location. I live in West Salem and this branch is not far from my home on Eola. Now, if I do still feel the need for an account with Chase, I will take my business elsewhere.

Letty1Want to waste your time and get horrible customer service, COME HERE! Want to not pay with cash because you "might be money laundering" even though they'll gladly accept a money order (which is THE SAME THING), COME HERE! Want the teller to not do their job, force you to count your cash to them, even though you're holding a baby and can't put them down, COME HERE! I'm switching my accounts immediately, and never stepping foot in this establishment ever again.
