Charlotte Metro Credit Union Reviews

Ethical Mindset1I had to call the 888 number on the back of the card, since no one at this location would answer the phone. I was inquiring about a secured credit card. I would have loved to get more info about but "there was no time". A call back from someone would have been wonderful, but I was told the likelihood of that was a no. Going into a location without an appointment is definitely a no for me. There's no telling how long I'd be sitting there looking like a lost puppy. Thank you CMCU for your absolutely amazing customer service. You all are really showing how much you value your customers.

Yami Siesel1Do people not want to work anymore? Just went to the branch to find out why a wire transfer to CMCU was not showing up in my balance. Lady in the office was truly useless. I handed her the confirmation and she didn’t even look at it. She Didn’t verify even the account and routing numbers. When I asked her is everything correct she answered oh I didn’t look at the account number.. seriously lady? I’ve been a client here 10 years but now I think it’s time to move on.. You learn a lot about a place when things go wrong.. It felt like she could care less about me even though it was a 200 k wire.

K G1Customer service at this bank is subpar. The location in Matthews is more inviting & friendly. When you walk in this location, you are not greeted by the tellers and half the time they are having private conversations & you as the customer have to say hello first. It is pretty sad that you treat customers this way when they made a choice to join this bank out of many options.

Vivianus James1I love Charlotte Metro, but bankers are a lot like teachers - captious and capricious. You'd think these people would be in a better mood, given bank hours and not having a real job. But they seem to be determined to have no personality and to live in terrible places like Ardrery Kell and SouthEnd.

Drew1Super disappointed in the way my relationship ended with CMCU. Having a staff member tell me "I may as well" cancel my membership (after ~7 years) over an overdraft fee I disputed was baffling. If the purpose of a bank, which I realize is a business, is to build and retain customers then this is a failure in the highest order. I look forward to speaking with someone higher up in the company.
Response from the ownerHi Drew - Thank you for providing feedback, we will look further into your recent experience.

jalisagriffin914Been with this bank for a few years now. Had an experience here a few months back that was more than what I was expecting. Cody really went ABOVEEEEE and beyond for me and in the banking industry you really don't come across folks who do those kinds of things. Bless him and his family.
Response from the ownerWe're thrilled to hear you had such a wonderful experience with our staff! Thank you for such a good review and - more importantly - thanks for being such a valued member and allowing us to be your financial partner. - Your friends at Charlotte Metro

Matt Hudson5Branch manager went over and above to take care of us on a car loan. She got us a great rate, a great credit card, and she even stayed late to sign the papers. Become a member, it's easy: you just have to live, worship, or volunteer in Charlotte area (including South Carolina)!
