  BEWARE!!! AVOID!!! I used this broker for my mortgage on my home purchase. I was a first-time homebuyer so Gordon assumed that I probably did not know anything about mortgage. When coming in and speaking to them they seemed kind and friendly. Acquiring a mortgage these days is a long complicated process which requires a lot of documentation which is normal but there are loan officers and processors that know how to prepare you for what you need to have in order to make your process smoother. You will for sure get better pricing and closing cost if you go through online mortgage companies. Their practices are extremely shady and they purposely put you a in position where you do not have many options. My original good faith estimate had a different value for origination points (the value can changed based on loan amount but the percentage points should not unless you suffer a penalty). They kind of just sneak the pt increase in their as they make you e-sign documents without informing you. Whenever you ask them for the current days rates which most lenders know daily... it takes them days to let you know. This delay makes it difficult for you to decide what rate you'd like to lock. They drag it out so you are so far in the loan process with them that changing lenders becomes more difficult. Good ol bait and switch. You will initially see that they aren't taking much for origination but be careful of their other fluff costs. They have a high processing fee. If you ask them about it they will refer to themselves In the 3rd person (Oh thats our 3rd party processor). Don't believe it. While I consistently asked for what the current rate is... THEY LOCKED MY RATE WITHOUT VERIFYING WITH ME if that's the rate and terms I wanted to lock. Gordon said he made a judgement call cause he has experience in the field and knows he had to lock it. It takes just one phone call to let me know what you are doing. Also when he locked in my rate he put me on a 15 day lock which was not enough time to close the loan. So I was charged a penalty to re-lock my rate. Of course they tell you there's nothing they can do because they could not close in time but this is not true. Where it is standard practice that fees and closing costs can change by the time you close, the way Gordon does it is by being as non-transparent as possible and waiting until the end to inform you. A good loan officer and processor with experience lets you know ahead of time what to expect. My rate was locked days before I even knew it. I had to fight tooth and nail to get them to lower some of the fees which they finally gave me back some. Save the headache and use someone else. You will save more money in the process. Everybody needs to make a living, just some are more honest.
