Jodi Wilson1Worst customer service and overall experience, ever! I have been trying to re-finance since Sept or Oct 2020. My load office has now ignored all of my emails, phone calls, and text messages for the last 50 days. I have gotten TWO appraisals, paying over $1100 out of pocket during the process, and no end in sight! Fastest way to get a representative on the phone is to stop paying my bill. I bet someone would call me then! Looking for a different mortgage company to work with. Carrington doesn't care about their customers.

Melaine Turner1BUYER BEWARE- This has been the most miserable experience possible. The loan officer and the processor would not respond to emails or phone calls, they were rude and then lied and stated I did not send in information so I had to forward all emails to their boss because of their dishonesty. I stopped using this company when their delays made me have to extend my closing then I would have had to extend it again due to the constant lack of diligence. I had another lender the same day who was appalled by the behavior. FIND ANOTHER LENDER. Don’t waste your time and money. Update: my new lender had to have them transfer the fha file and the first time Carrington sent the fha file they didn’t log it correctly or attach the file- the second time they attached the file but the other information- this is plain lack of diligence or follow through. Shame on you, Carrington.

Morgan Wyatt1I ended up paying 700$ in lender fees that I was promised would go away by closing. And not only that, but I was continually promised they would go away, all the way up to and past the time of closing. I was told to sign all of the closing papers the morning of closing, and that Carrington would fix the closing disclosure (credit the fees) and I'd come back to the titling agency to sign it. It wasn't until almost three hours after the time of closing that Carrington realized they couldn't give me the credit because of the rules of their mortgage insurer, rules they should have known weeks before closing. So not only will I never ever recommend Carrington- not only for the extra money they cost me, but for the broken promise and the fact that they dragged out telling me until the last possible moment when I had no choice but to accept it and be screwed, or open myself to suit by the seller- I will tell anyone that asks for a lender suggestion my story, and I will tell them to avoid Carrington at all costs, unless they are actually wanting to go with a company that does not read the rules of their industry, or is intentionally screwing people over. Edit 1/29/21: Called supplied customer service line and they said they'd put a note on my file that I called in.

Bill Goodwin5I can't speak to others' experiences. We all deal with different issues and different personalities. My experience however has been wonderfully blessed. Over the years of buying and selling homes I have grown familiar with the Carrington Mortgage team and we have always kept in touch. They are honest and very helpful! These employees care about you as a person not just your business! I send everyone their way now without hesitation!

Chuck Semple1The office I was working with restructured and fired the loan officer I had been working with on Monday. I have no contact information and have not heard from anyone since. It is now Thursday and my closing date is next Tuesday. Would not recommend to anyone. 0/10
