Capital One Bank Reviews

A A2I've been banking with Capital One for almost 20 years and I think that is going to come to an end soon. I've submitted change of name documentation twice only to not have my account updated ( documentation was also sent to Navy Federal credit Union, and they completed their updates in 10 days and sent me an email confirming the change), and instead of the company making their communication accessible via email or chat (The way they do with credit cards), they respond to me with a certified letter sent with $9 postage to my mailing address (a PO box). They ask for a number of identifiers, to which they don't specify if they mean my identifiers, or the identifiers on the account, (since my name has changed, the information does not match), The only avenue of response they give me is to respond to them in writing via postal mail, which is not accessible as a disabled person (My disability keeps me housebound for weeks at a time. The mail where I live is not secure, so a trip to the post office is necessary to ensure mail is not stolen). The branch is also been having numerous problems with lack of accessibility at the ATM and the lobby. Pairing this with insufficient communication accessibility, I will be exploring other options that are more accommodating of disabled/trans/neurodivergent folks and our needs.

Honore1This location is simply a mess. It is pretty regular to not have cash or being able to use the outside ATM due to lack of money or maintenance. Worst location ever for banking. If your bank charge you for any withdrawal outside of their network, do not have ATM everywhere and that your clients have to drive for cash then the least you should do is to have ATM that works on a regular basis not the contrary

Richard Fitzpatrick1Lobby is still closed and no Branch Manager onsite, as a result customers with issues use the drive thru that can hold up the line for extended periods of time. Were now 2 years into Covid (Mar -2022) and it's time to fully open up or shut down and give another Bank a chance.

Scott5Nicole was fantastic! She helped me get a cashiers check I needed for my rent. PLEASE DON’T CLOSE THIS BRANCH. So many Capital One branches in the local area have closed, and this branch serves so many customers in the area.

Cassie Basurto1The lobby is closed so waited an hour in line to speak to a banker only to be treated so rudely and when I asked for my things back she violently pushed the tray out and hit my hand with it. I wanted my card replaced and before I waited in line I called customer service to confirm I could replace my card in store to which they confirmed could be done in store. Do not bank with capital one.

Michael Cagle1What has happened to Capital One? They've closed half of the branches in the area and the ones that are left are under-staffed and closed half the time. This specific branch seems to really struggle. I just waited in the drive thru for 20 minutes because the lobby was closed and they only had one teller working. Very disappointed!

Guerdina francois1Do not come over here or else you will be there for 2 hours in the drive trou

Ingrid B1Switched from chase to capitol one 2 weeks ago. Worst decision ever! Just trying to link my 17 year old daughter’s account to my account. They somehow can’t make that happen. Already 4 “specialists” are supposedly looking at it. Nobody calls with updates or any information. Worst customer service ever. Not staying with this archaic unprofessional bank!

Extreme TM3New customer. Went all in from Chase. Opened 5 accounts and a credit card. 834 credit score, FT job., etc. Called this branch with 3 questions. Man said "I don't know" to all 3 of them. I asked him if he could transfer me to someone who could answer my questions. He quickly hung up and put me in a recorded auto attendant at the main 800 number. Never treated this poorly and rudely by a bank member. Now I have to spend another week moving a large sum of money back to Chase. That is if the money ever moves from 'processing' to cleared at Cap One . 6 days and counting and funds are still not available. Thought we were out of the 90s. The grass is definitely not greener on the other side. Chase's customer service is light years ahead of Cap One.
Response from the ownerThis truly isn't putting our best foot forward so we apologize for your experience. Rest assured, we've doc'd this post as feedback so that it's seen by the right eyes.^AS

Jaye Barnett1My debit card wouldn’t work and telephone support just told me I was entering the wrong expiration date when I used my card at the post office. Then bank employee advised that I was one of the account holders that had my debit card miscoded - card imprint said 01/20 while mag strip and chip said 09/19. When I asked for my card back with the temp one provided while they processed a new card he flippantly said “Oh, I shredded it.” His action then prevented me from being able to use it at Target, Home Depot, etc for lookup purposes. I now am holding a $300 store credit because they wouldn’t give debit refund without card proof. I requested a letter (and apology for error and inconvenience). Was told 7-10 days. At 10 days was told that is working days. At 10 working days was told that’s 15, at 15 they were still working on it, at 31 working days they had closed the complaint/request with no resolution did I want to open another ticket? Branch Manager serves at 3-4 places so you have to call around for him as messages left are not received. He claimed would check he voiced company line they are working on it (this was around working day 17) and promptly dumped back to corporate queue Moving my accounts today. Goodbye C1 - happiness will be seeing you in my rear view mirror
